PROJECT INFORMATION:

3 Mile Road, A0328000, is located two (2) miles north of Flandreau, SD on the east side of SD Highway 13. The project begins at the intersection of SD Highway 13 and 228th Street (134-10(1), heads east for 1 mile, then proceeds north for 1 mile on 482nd Avenue (1381-10(1), then proceeds west for 1 mile on 227th Street (135-10(1) to the end of the project at the intersection with SD Highway 13.

STATEMENT OF WORK:

For this project, the contractor shall be required to supply all labor, materials, and equipment to complete the project in accordance with the approved Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Plans and Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects, FP-03 with special contract requirements.

BIDDERS QUALIFICATIONS:

The contractor shall supply within the bid package a written narrative of the understanding of the project; to include qualifications as related to this type of road construction work and project work completed, as a prime contractor or subcontractor, within the last five (5) years.

PROJECT COMPLETION:

STATEMENT OF WORK:

For this project, the Engineer shall provide all testing in accordance with the approved Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) plans, Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects, FP-03 with special contract requirements and in accordance with the latest edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The Engineer will also provide verification and authorization of work in place, daily reporting, verify material costs and quantities, compile pay requests and verify quantities to be applied to modifications.

BIDDERS QUALIFICATIONS:

Work performed shall be by a Professional Engineer registered in the state of South Dakota. The contractor shall supply within the bid package a written narrative of the understanding of the project; to include qualifications as related to construction engineering on this type of road construction project and project work completed, as a prime contractor or subcontractor, within the last five (5) years.

PROJECT COMPLETION:

Contractor shall be required to complete the project by October 15, 2015.

This road construction project includes 3.02 miles of grading, installation of metal and precast concrete pipe culverts, construction of an aggregate base course, construction of a hot asphalt concrete pavement surface, and other incidental items to complete the project. The contractor shall provide a quality control plan, which shall provide an outline of the construction schedule, contractor testing and test results, and construction progress reports for daily and weekly reports to adhere to the Quality Control/Quality Assurance standards
