3 Mile Road, A0328000, is located two (2) miles north of Flandreau, SD on the east side of SD Highway 13. The project begins at the intersection of SD Highway 13 and 228th Street (134-10(1), heads east for 1 mile, then proceeds north for 1 mile on 482nd Avenue (1381-10(1), then proceeds west for 1 mile on 227th Street (135-10(1) to the end of the project at the intersection with SD Highway 13.

June 12, 2015 Dakota Layers AI Update First off, from my family and all of us at Dakota Layers, I want to thank all of you for your cards, prayers and support during this difficult time. Even though we had set up a plan of action, there is no way we could begin to comprehend the true effects of this event. However, we are confident that Dakota Layers will weather this storm. As of today almost all the birds have been euthanized. Towards the end, the birds were dying faster than we could remove them. Even though all birds are gone, our site will continue to be a quarantined zone until we completely clean and sterilize the buildings and property. This process of cleaning will take from now until late October to complete. We will be utilizing all of our employees to accomplish this process. We have divided our cleaning process into 3 categories; the Processing facility, our 9 layer houses and the outside area to include the exterior of each building, the manure buildings and the feed bins. In our processing area (to include packing area, coolers, dry storage, lunch room and offices) We will be breaking down all equipment including our packer and clean and disinfect every little part. Any item that cannot be disinfected, such as belts, packers, packaging, pallets, etc will be disposed of in our burn pit. Chris Wiese and 5 of his workers will be responsible to complete this area. In our barns We estimate that each of the 9 houses will take close to 2 weeks to clean. Anne Johanson will oversee 40 workers to complete this task. Each house will go through a series of cleanings starting with a dry clean, a damp organic breakdown wash, a hand wash of all equipment, repeat dry clean, wet wipe down and a final sanitizing. All egg belts, including the large belt that carries the eggs to the processing plant must be removed and disposed of. Many of the manure belts will also be removed. Outside Cleaning Chicken barns and processing complex Dry clean all vents and fans Power wash all outside surfaces Feed bins Wash and disinfect insides of bins and augers Manure buildings Complete composting existing manure and remove from barns. Clean insides of each barn, eliminating all organic material with a final sanitation as completed in chicken house. As you can see, we will be busy much of this year sterilizing our entire operation.
