The Moody County Historical Society is sponsoring Dad’s Belgian Waffle Feed Fundraiser on Sunday, October 16th at the Janklow Community Center in Flandreau from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards supporting events and programming at the Moody County Museum. Tickets are $7 in advance or $8 at the door. Advanced tickets can be purchased at the Moody County Museum, The Personal Touch Salon and the Bean and Vine in Flandreau and Blue Jays restaurant in Egan. The waffle feed is all you can eat and will include toppings, sausage, orange juice and coffee.

There will be a raffle at the event.

Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. Items being raffled include two Healthy Heart gift certificates for Avera North Central Heart in Sioux Falls, a child’s bicycle and much, much more! Rooster Rush Takes Flight for 2016 Season Flandreau Joins State in Celebrating Pheasant Hunting Tradition FLANDREAU, S.D. – Rooster Rush is being celebrated in Flandreau for the 2016 pheasant hunting season. Cities and businesses statewide are participating in the fifth year of the season-long promotion. The promotion was introduced across the state to help preserve and promote the history of the state’s pheasant hunting industry.

“Pheasant hunting is important to the economic well-being of South Dakota, and it also helps support the strong outdoor heritage of our state,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “People come from across the country each year to experience a South Dakota pheasant hunt. The impact that pheasant hunting has on South Dakota continues to be an important part of the state’s economy.”

This farm has very good eye appeal with the general topography being gently rolling to rolling. According to the Moody County Assessor this farm consists of approx. 60.78 acres and has an excellent overall soil rating of .834, similarly information obtained from Surety Agri Data, Inc. this parcel of land is indicated to have a Productivity Index of a 85, with these being very respectable soil ratings for the area. The 2015 RE taxes payable in 2016 on this farm were part of a larger parcel inclusive of the acreage site which is not included with the parcel of land offered for sale.
