Summary: This fulltime position is located at The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Health Clinic in Flandreau, SD. The purpose of this position is to work in a hybrid (paper/electronic) medical record environment, alternating between abstracting and coding pertinent outpatient medical data from the Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) into the Resource Patient Management billing system and analyzing medical data entered by the clinician in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Duties include: Performs comprehensive review of the record to assure the presence of all component parts, such as: correct name, health record number, signatures and dates where required, and all reports which appear to be indicated by the treatment rendered; Evaluates the record for documentation, consistency, accuracy and correlation of recorded data, such as medical necessity and modifier usage; Ensures the final diagnosis as stated by the physician is valid, complete and accurately reflects the care and treatment rendered; Analyzes provider documentation to assure the appropriate Evaluation and Management (E&M) levels are assigned using the correct CPT codes and applicable modifiers; Assures diagnostic and procedural terminology used is consistent with currently acceptable medical nomenclature. Must adhere to HIPAA requirements. Education & Experience Qualifications: Applicant must have HS Diploma/GED and AAPC Coder Certification and two (2) years’ experience to apply. Brief Summary: This Fulltime position performs any combination of the following tasks in assigned areas in the classroom and community to assist Native American students in acquiring the attitudes, knowledge and skills that contribute to effective learning in school in compliance with the 93-638 Johnson O’Malley program. This position is responsible for aiding and tutoring students in the necessary academic areas essential for successful completion of the school year to progress to the next grade level ; guide students in the development , planning and coordination of activities relating to youth education and development; Aid with outreach and programming for the Johnson O’Malley program with parents and guardians. Other Clerical duties will be assigned. Minimum Education, Qualifications & Requirements: • Associates Degree in education, family studies or youth development fields and 1 year experience working with youth, tutoring or in the education field; and/or a combination of higher education and 5 year’s experience working with youth in tutoring or the educational field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. • Must be able to tutor up to Algebra level and help with writing and grammar up to high school level. College Level Preferred. • Must have strong written and communication skills. • Must be willing to be trained, be creative and have independent working skills. • Must possess a valid SD Driver’s license and insurable by the FSST. • Must submit to a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and P.L. 101-630 background check. The City Council of the City of Flandreau, South Dakota, met in special session on Monday, August 28th, 2017 at 5:15 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 1005 W. Elm Avenue, Flandreau, SD. Also present were Donald Whitman and Tammy Pitsenberger, City of Flandreau. The proposed agenda was reviewed. Motion by Pesall and seconded by Sample to adopt the proposed agenda. The following members voted aye: Bjerke, Pesall, Sample, Smith, Sutton and Tufty. Nays: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. A proposed 2018 budget for the City was reviewed in detail by Council.
