EGAN CITY MINUTES REGULAR MEETING July 20, 2022 The Board of Trustees of the City of Egan, South Dakota met in regular session on July 20, 2022 at the Egan City Hall, 110 W 3rd Street, Egan, SD. Present: Board of Trustee members John Steinhauer, Cody Chamblin, Jerome Olson, Nancy Hansen, and Brad Judstra. Also present were Jerrick Charles, Moody County Emergency Manager, and Marty Skroch, Moody County Commission Assistant. The meeLng was called to order by Chairman Steinhauer at 6:00pm. MoLon by Judstra, second by Chamblin, to approve the agenda. All present voted “aye.” MoLon by Chamblin, second by Judstra, to approve the minutes from June 15, 2022 regular meeLng. All present voted “aye”. No Public Comment: Zoning: Two building permits were reviewed. New Business: MoLon by Judstra, second by Hansen, to nominate John Steinhauer as Board Chairman and Cody Chamblin as Vice Chairman. All present voted “aye”. Moody County Emergency Manager/Veterans Service Officer Jerrick Charles introduced himself to the board. Discussion was had on his duLes as Emergency Manager and VSO, and the May 12th storm. Charles and Skroch leU the meeLng at 6:30pm. MoLon by Chamblin, second by Hansen, to approve the Big Sioux Rural Water Contract as presented. All present voted “aye”. MoLon by Judstra, second by Chamblin, to approve the Law Enforcement Contract for 2023 as presented. All present voted “aye”. MoLon by Judstra, second by Chamblin, to prepay 2,500 gallons of propane at a rate of $1.859. All present voted “aye”. Commi5ee Reports: Compliance/Code Enforcement: Discussion on one outstanding abatement. Maintenance: MoLon by Judstra, second by Hansen, to allocate an addiLonal $3,000 for cleaning and filling cracks on City streets. All present voted “aye.” MoLon by Chamblin, second by Judstra, to approve bid of $30,200 from Topkote for chipsealing main street from school to highway. All present voted “aye.” MoLon by Chamblin, second by Judstra, to pay Jackie Jones $300.00 for 2022 brush pile rent. Trustee Judstra will reach out to City of Flandreau regarding sweeping streets. Discussion on closing main street truck route. Parks: Changes to baseball park grant were made and submiêd on Lme. MoLon by Olson, second by Steinhauer, to accept increase of $5,012.56 for ball field fencing due to the grant requiring all products be made in USA. All present voted “aye.” Dumpster will be ordered for Baseball Tournament July 29th-31st. MoLon by Chamblin, second by Judstra, to make payment for 2022 brush pile rent to Jackie Jones.
