Qualifications & Requirements:

Applicant must be currently certified through the state of South Dakota or Bureau of Indian Affairs. Applicants that have any felony convictions or felony deferred judgments will be disqualified from the process. Applicants with any misdemeanor convictions (non-traffic) or misdemeanor deferred judgments within the last 36 months will be disqualified from testing. No illegal drug usage within the last 36 months. Applicants who have used drugs within the last 36 months will be disqualified from testing. Education: you must have either a high school diploma or G.E.D. Must be 21 years of age at the time of appointment and possess a valid Driver’s License. You must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible to work in the United States. You must complete P.L. 101-630 background check and any other background checks that may apply for this position.

Education and Experience: Applicant must have a G.E.D. or High school Diploma, Applicant must be currently certified through the state of South Dakota or Bureau of Indian Affairs, Associates Degree in Criminal Justice preferred, 2-3 years law enforcement experience strongly preferred.

Summary: This position works to ensure the accurate submission of all claims to third party payers according to policy and billing regulations and the collection and posting of accounts to third party payers of the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Health Center. The Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist is responsible for making sure accounts are being reimbursed correctly and in a timely manner from all insurance companies. The ARB Specialist ensures revenue by verifying and posting receipts resolving discrepancies when required.

Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of two (2) years of medical billing experience required. Vocational training in medical billing a plus. Provider credentialing experience preferred. RPMS and eProvider Solution experience preferred; working knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of basic medical coding practices.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Egan, South Dakota met in regular session on July 10, 2023 at Egan City Hall, 110 W 3rd Street, Egan, SD.

Present: Board of Trustee members Cody Chamblin, Jerome Olson, Nancy Hansen, and Brad Judstra. Also present were: Denise Hollaren, John Steinhauer, Don Hansen, Dana Walters, and Amanda Walters.

Meeting was called to order by Chairman Chamblin.

Motion by Judstra, second by Olson, to approve the agenda. All present voted “aye.”

Motion by Judstra, to amend and approve minutes of June 14, 2023as amended. Amendment to strike the amendment of changing the minutes of May 17, 2023, to change Olson to Hansen as seconding the Chairman motion. Second by Hansen. All present voted “aye.”

Public Comment: None

Old Business: Discussion on revising Egan City Zoning Ordinance Chapter 4.05 Parking, Storage, or Use of Major Recreation Equipment. First reading of amendment to change Ordinance will be August 16, 2023. Discussion on placement of new road signs. IMEG will be notified to place signs on SE corner of intersections.

New Business: Noted that Trustee 1 John Steinhauer resigned from the Board and as an employee when turning in keys at May 17, 2023 meeting.

Motion by Olson, second by Hansen, to nominate Judstra as Vice Chairman. Motion by Judstra to nominate Hansen as Vice Chairman, Hansen respectfully declines. Vote for Judstra as Vice Chairman all present voting “aye”. One sealed bid was received for cutting and baling of ball field and sewer lagoon area. Motion by Judstra, second by Olson, to award bid to Nick Otto for $200.00. All present voting “aye”. Motion by Judstra, second by Hansen, to approve Bender Sewer cleaning proposal. All present voting “aye”. Discussion on job description for maintenance position. Board will discuss again at July 19, 2023 meeting. Summary: FT position (40 hrs.) Monday – Friday. Assisting physician and/or mid-level in clinic environment. Rooming patients, obtaining medical histories, assessments and other nursing skills directed to direct patient care. Assists with procedures and supports specialty providers and other nursing clinical services.

Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited LPN program. Possession of a valid and current CPR certification. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Basic computer skills.

Summary: Acts as part of the Care Team in the clinical hub by serving as the primary point of contact for the patient by communicating with patients and assisting them with the services provided at Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Health Center. Coordinate the flow of patients through managing phone calls, running schedules, making future phone appointments, and assisting providers and nurses with various clinical responsibilities as requested. Schedules appointments, checks patients in, verifies demographics, assist with obtaining preauthorization’s and coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Education/Experience:

Must submit to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and P.L. 101-630 background investigation. Must have a valid drivers’ license.

High school diploma or GED required. Medical terminology experience and Medical Assistant degree from a college or technical school preferred. Customer service or related experience.
