A huge THANK YOU goes out to the unsung heroes of the Flandreau Fire Dept! Thanks to the hard work, fast response, and dedication of our volunteer firefighters along with those from Colman, Trent, Elkton, Dell Rapids, Pipestone, and Brookings the Veterans Center was spared during the recent tragic fire at the Flandreau Meat Locker. Unbelievably the Veterans Center had only a small puddle of water in our Supply room. There is virtually NO smoke, heat or water damage from the inferno that raged only inches away and that hundreds of thousands of gallons of water was dumped onto. Often we take for granted the dedicated public servants who sacrifice their time and talents to support our community. Our firefighters come from every walk of life sacrifice huge amounts of personal and family time to train so they can respond on a moment’s notice, which is exactly what they did on Thursday. We the veterans of the American Legion Salute you and thank you for your dedicated and faithful service, you all are our heroes and we stand ready, able, and willing to support you however we can. 2017 Moody County Fair Open Class Static Exhibit List
GENERAL RULES
1. Entries must be the work of the exhibitor and completed during the last two years. Entries must not have been exhibited at a previous Moody County Fair in the Open Class division. 2. Paintings and wall hangings must be ready to hang. 3. The Moody County Fair reserves the right to combine or divide any lot as deemed necessary. 4. Exhibitors may enter a maximum of 4 entries per lot. 5. There is no charge to the exhibitor for entering exhibits in open class. 6. Persons under the age of 18 as of July 25, 2017 will be judged in the junior division. Please use the entry tags for junior entries with a “J” in front of the lot number, and include age of the exhibitor on the entry card. 7. Every precaution will be taken for the safekeeping of all articles, but the Moody County Fair, SDSU Extension Service, Moody County Extension staff and volunteers will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury that may occur during the judging process or display. 8. Exhibits may be entered from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, July 25 at the Flandreau Armory. However, literature exhibits are to be entered at the Moody County Extension Office by 3 pm, Friday, July 21 so the judge has adequate time to read and evaluate entries before the county fair. 9. Flowers & Vegetables can be brought on Wednesday, July 26 from 9-10 am. 10. Exhibits will be released at 12 noon on Saturday, July 29. Please make arrangements to have your exhibits picked up no later than 2 pm. The Armory must be cleaned that evening.
