EGAN CITY MINUTES REGULAR MEETING

April 19, 2023

The Board of Trustees of the City of Egan, South Dakota met in regular session on April 19, 2023 at Egan City Hall, 110 W 3rd Street, Egan, SD.

Present: Board of Trustee members Jerome Olson, Cody Chamblin, Nancy Hansen, and Brad Judstra. Member absent: John Steinhauer.

Meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Chamblin.

Motion by Judstra, second by Olson, to approve the agenda. All present voted “aye.”

Motion by Judstra, second by Olson, to approve the minutes from March 15, 2023 regular meeting. All present voted “aye”.

Old Business: Paint South Dakota was discussed. No action taken. Motion by Judstra, second by Hansen, to set clean up day for May 6th and the rain date for May 20th. All present voted “aye”.

Zoning: Two building permits were discussed.

New Business: Motion by Hansen, second by Judstra, to approve the 2022 Annual Drinking Water Report. All present voted “aye.” Will have Attorney Gass review 2024 Law Enforcement Contract.

Committee Reports:

Compliance/Code Enforcement: Numerous violations have been sited. A full list will be submitted at May meeting. Maintenance: Motion by Chamblin, second by Judstra, to allow up to $80,000 for 2023 street repairs. All present voted “aye”. Parks: Call to start Porta Potty Service April 25th at baseball field.

Motion by Judstra, second by Olson, to approve Financial Report. All present voted “aye”.

Motion by Chamblin, second by Hansen, to approve the following bills: Big Sioux Water $2,542.25 (Water/ water loan/supplies); Booster Publishing $49.95 (Publishing); Century Link $287.31 (Phone); CitiBusiness Card $312.25 (Office Supplies); City of Sioux Falls $43.50 (Bacteria Testing); Department of Treasury $995.68 (Payroll Tax); Eng Services $1,111.80Monthly Garbage); gWorks $259.00 (UBMAX Reader Interface Software); Helsper, McCarty, & Rasmussen $490.00 (Legal Service); Moody County Auditor $1749.60 (Law Enforcement Feb & March); Moody County Enterprise $259.97 (Publishing); Ottertail Power $877.72 (Electric/Street Lights); RDC $84.90 (Internet/Static IP); River’s Edge $923.68 (Fuel & Propane); Significant Digits $650.00 (Annual Support Fee); State of South Dakota $83.30 (Jan/Feb Sales Tax); USDA - $569.00 (Loan); Payroll – General $1,907.99 All present voted “aye”.

Correspondence reviewed.

Motion by Judstra, second by Hansen, to adjourn at 6:50 pm. All present voted “aye”.
