Building Maintenance Specialist Building Automation System
Dakota State University is seeking applications for a full-time Building Maintenance Specialist – Building Automation System (HVAC controls). This position is responsible for the daily operation of the building automation system as well as maintaining and installing new systems compatible with our Siemens Apogee system. The incumbent will aid the facilities administration in creating estimates for new installations of HVAC equipment and necessary control devices. Assisting the facilities administration in tracking the service and inspection dates while maintaining a PM database for the university air handlers, air compressors, HVAC pumps, chillers, A/C units, HVAC damper and valves, and hydronic heating systems. This position will also be part of the operation team for the steam heating boilers. Once hired the employee will respond to work orders for failed equipment in a timely manner, track project time, effort, and expense as well as repair a variety of equipment and perform preventative maintenance on equipment on a specific schedule. The successful applicant must possess an electrical, plumbing or refrigeration license, preferable in the State of South Dakota, experience with building automation systems and HVAC sytems is preferred, be able to follow written and oral instructions, operate required equipment, have a working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook, work with students, staff and the public courteously, work independently, lift up to 50 pounds regularly and maintain a valid driver’s license. Spring Creek Township in Moody County, South Dakota is accepting bids for road blading and snow removal. Road blading is to be bid on a per hour basis times the 45 miles of roads for a total bid per trip. Snow removal will be bid per hour. Township is also accepting bids for culvert and road repair. Goal: Share a positive message of the FFA to 4th through 8th grade students and the community. Dress-up Days: Monday, Feb. 20 - Nerd Day (Owl) Tuesday, Feb. 21 - Farmer Day (Plow) Wednesday, Feb. 22 - Beach Day (Rising Sun) Thursday, Feb. 23 - America Day (Flag) Friday, Feb. 24 - No School Major Activities: Tuesday, Feb. 13 - FFA Meeting 6:30 pm Thursday, Feb. 16 - Hand out coloring contest sheets to Pre-K-3 Elementary Students Get sub sandwich orders for all FFA Members Monday, Feb. 20 - All FFA Members (dues paid) can eat lunch in the Ag Room. Subs will be ordered on Sunday. - FFA Members will make popcorn for the animal nursery Tuesday, Feb. 21 - FFA Animal Nursery - FFA Members will make popcorn for the animal nursery Wednesday, Feb. 22 - Drive your tractor to school (HS) - Pedal Tractor Parade - Each HS & MS class can put together a float using a pedal tractor and wagon. The parade will go through the HS/MS Hallway at the beginning of 2nd period. Thursday, Feb. 23 - Mock CDE for 5th - 8th grade students in the armory. Saturday, Feb. 25 - Community and National Guard Appreciation Breakfast - Serving from 7:30 am until 9:30 am. State FFA Officer will come and speak at 8:00. Other Items of Importance: FFA Members will read the HS and MS announcements each day of the week; starting on Friday, Feb. 17. We will include FFA facts and a trivia question. There will be prizes for the trivia questions Monday through Thursday. We will host a community breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 25th in the Community Center from 7:30 to 10:00 am. We will serve the National Guardsmen who are training that weekend as well as all FFA supporters. We have invited a State FFA Officer to speak at the breakfast. During the breakfast, we will display some Flandreau FFA History and encourage guests to bring in their oldest FFA awards. Any person who brings an award from 2000-2016 will earn $5. Any person who brings an award from 1980-1999 will earn $10. Any person who brings an award older than 1980 will earn $15. (Flandreau bucks). We will also host a community Mock CDE during the breakfast. FFA Members will have signs posted on their lockers starting on Thursday, Feb. 16 to recognize their membership. The mystery FFA alumni guessing contest. Clues will be given weekly in the Enterprise for 4 weeks prior to FFA week. The announcement of the winner and of the mystery alumnus will be announced at the community breakfast.
