SUMMARY: The Accountant performs complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of ledger accounts and contributes to the development of associated managerial reports and financial statements. The accountant is responsible for serving as a team leader in the finance department and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization. CITY OF FLANDREAU 2016 PROJECT REVIEW During 2016, the City of Flandreau accomplished a number of projects. These projects are all for the betterment of the community. Dakota State University is seeking applications for a full-time Building Maintenance Specialist specializing in plumbing. This position is responsible for maintaining existing plumbing, heating and cooling systems on the facilities and installing new systems according to state code. The incumbent will aid the facilities administration in creating estimates for new installations of HVAC equipment and plumbing systems, troubleshoot, repair and upgrade plumbing systems. This position is also responsible for replacing and/or maintaining the plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers, urinals) on campus and using an Excel database to assist the facilities administration in tracking the service and inspection dates for the university air handlers, air compressors, HVAC pumps, chillers, A/C units, water softeners, Food Service equipment and hydronic heating systems etc. This position will also be part of the operation team for the steam heating boilers. Once hired the employee will respond to work orders for failed equipment in a timely manner, track project time, effort, and expense. This position will also be responsible for repairing and servicing a variety of equipment which includes performing preventative maintenance on equipment on a specified schedule. The successful applicant must possess a Plumber’s License, preferable in the State of South Dakota and have 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience. You should also be able to follow written and oral instructions, operate required equipment, and have a working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook.
