All Color
The exploration of black and white is deeply compelling to me—my work exists in the gray and finds its resolution in the shadows. I don’t see black and white as the absence of color but rather as containing all color— compressed, distilled, and heightened.
The sketching and shaping of vessels is an ongoing inquiry for me—a means of formal expression and a way to examine the space between use and usability, between the precious and the profane, between object and offering.
In these pieces, I seek not to resolve these dualities but to hold them in tension. The vessel becomes a site of ambiguity—useful yet not used, sculptural yet familiar, expressive yet silent. Black and white, in this context, become tools to explore volume, light, surface, and the spaces in between.

Description:
In a rectilinear proscenium—fabricated from 1" steel tube and measuring approximately 18" x 24"—a series of black and white vessels are presented on a wooden base, its surface gilded in thin gold leaf.
The steel frame defines a spatial boundary without enclosure, inviting the viewer to peer into a space that becomes a site of ritual and reflection. This minimal framework, combined with deliberate contrasts—black and white, matte and gloss, light and shadow—heightens the ambiguity of the objects themselves.
