We are Montini!

our mission

Montini students are known, seen and loved!

Montini Catholic High School is a family-centered co-educational college preparatory high school rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as emulated by our founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle. We are committed to the education of the whole person. Our Lasallian tradition recognizes the sacredness of all persons and educates students of diverse abilities, cultures, and socio-economic backgrounds.

our history St. John Baptist de La Salle, a French cleric, founded the Brothers of the Christian Schools in the late 17th century. Named the Patron Saint of All Teachers, St. John Baptist de La Salle dedicated his life to providing a well-rounded, Christian education to students of all faiths. In 1963, the De La Salle Christian Brothers were invited to sponsor and manage a new Catholic high school in the Lombard area, and in 1966, Montini Catholic opened its doors to 217 freshmen.

Montini students are part of a Lasallian community spanning 80 countries and currently educating over one million students worldwide. Locally, Montini Catholic is a member of the Midwest District of The De La Salle Christian Brothers, which includes three universities and fourteen high schools. A Lasallian education centers on five interlocking values which are: • Quality education • Inclusive community

Today, Montini Catholic has graduated over 8,300

• Faith in the presence of God

Lasallians, who are a diverse group of individuals and are lifetime members of one unique community. Our school consists of students from over 104 private and public grade schools in over 50 cities in the Chicagoland area. All faiths are welcomed members of our Montini Catholic family.

• Concern for the poor • Respect for all people A Lasallian education at Montini Catholic means that your calling matters to us. We firmly believe that your high school experience should be unique to your needs. Our Montini Catholic family touches hearts, stimulates minds, and cultivates leadership to prepare students for college, life, work and service.

into academic tracks. Our curriculum allows students to take courses within 4 academic levels: Advanced Placement, Honors, College Prep and Signum Fidei. Levels are determined by Placement and Proficiency Exam results, grade school records and/or grade school teacher recommendations. (Following our Lasallian mission of inclusive education, Signum Fidei is a selective academic program designed to work with 25 students each year who test below grade level.) All classes are engaging and designed to help students learn at their unique level while preparing them for the demands of college.

“

My advice to students starting high school would be to get outside of your comfort zone! Try new things, talk to people you don’t know, and find something you like. My involvement in school has served me very well. I figured out what I wanted to do with my future, met some of my best friends, and got to be on a team that made Montini history, all because I tried a new club I knew nothing about! “ – Anjay Dhir - Class of 2024 - Captain of Robotics Worlds Team

Getting involved is one of the best parts of being in high school. Whether it’s joining a sport or club or trying something completely new, you’ll meet people and discover things you didn’t even know you were good at. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there!” Skye Houston - Class of 2024

Students are motivated to step out of their comfort zones and to get engaged.

Involvement in our student life program is a very important aspect of the well-rounded Montini Catholic college preparatory experience. Participation in clubs, organizations, activities and events enriches the educational experience and is considered an extension of the classroom. Students gain experience and knowledge beyond iPads and textbooks, develop leadership and social skills and make long lasting friendships by participating in Montini’s student life program that features over 30 clubs/leadership opportunities and honor societies and close to 30 activities and social events. Students are encouraged to further develop their talent and skills in activities that they have a passion for and to “step out” of their comfort zones to experience new things in a friendly, respectful and supportive school community.

Students take advantage of Montini’s 30 minute “Activity Period” after school (and before athletic practices) to join clubs, meet with teachers, do homework, make up tests, study and socialize.

Our Lasallian mission fosters a community of service and provides many avenues for spiritual growth. Service is one aspect of the Montini Catholic experience that sets us apart from other schools. Our Lasallian mission of education is rooted in the belief that we are servants of God. Through a four year theology curriculum, a four year retreat program (which includes Kairos Retreats), peer ministry activities, domestic and international mission trips and an extensive community service program; we provide each student with a number of opportunities to grow spiritually

“

and socially and to become difference makers.

During the 2025-2026 school year, Montini students earned a total of 6,600 service hours collectively.

Montini Catholic students grow as Christian leaders.

They develop respect for themselves and for others, they become more aware of social issues and social

injustices, they see the importance of helping others, and they realize that they truly have the ability to “Touch the Hearts” of others.

At Christmas, as we dropped off gifts to families in need, what left the biggest impact on me was the silent grimace on the parents' faces. It made me want to connect more deeply with those we are helping. This kind of empathy comes from truly connecting with others and understanding their experiences. It changed me forever.” – Ashlynn Lindt - Class of 2026 University of Dayton Skye Houston - Class of 2024

Watching my son graduate from Montini Catholic - the same school that shaped me years ago - has been incredibly meaningful. Montini helped form the person I am today, grounding me in the core values of family, faith, and service, and I remain deeply proud of the impact it has had on my life. Knowing that my son has been guided by those same principles fills me with gratitude and joy. It’s a powerful reminder of the lasting legacy of a community that forms not just students, but people of character.” – Brian Herold ‘94 and Henry Herold ‘26
