Burning Mouth Syndrome

Burning Mouth Syndrome is a condition which some patients have to deal with every day of their lives. It is very frustrating to the patient and doctors because this condition interferes with eating and it could get worse as time goes by and there is no definitive test to diagnose this condition, nor there is no known cause and there is also no definitive treatment for this condition.

In the US about 2% to 5% acquire BMS and it especially strikes women between the ages of 50 and 70 years old. In women it usually occurs 3 to 12 years after menopause, and it occurs more in patients with other health problems. BMS patients frequently have anxiety, depression, diabetes, mineral deficiencies, or nutritional defiance’s. The most common location

for these symptoms are the lips and tongue and sometimes in the hard palate. Patients usually have an irritated or raw feeling in the mouth, but the area usually looks normal.

Sometimes patients have a metallic taste in their mouth and are unable to detect bitter flavors and spicy and acidic foods increase their burning sensation. Patients should check the following symptoms that might be caused by BMS: • Persistent burning tongue and oral pain with no apparent dental cause.

• Abnormal taste or dry feeling in the mouth which disappears when eating.

Although the exact cause of BMS is unknown the suspected primary cause could be deterioration of the nerves beneath the oral tissue. This deterioration is not visible which is why the mouth appears normal.

Veterans Day vs Memorial Day: Understanding the Difference So you may be wondering what’s the difference between Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. Don’t worry; we’re here to help you so you won’t embarrass yourself.

After undergoing the Korean War and World War II, the U.S. Congress decided to amend the Armistice Day by changing it to Veterans Day. This was from the Act of 1938, where veterans service organizations urged and convinced Congress for this change. On June 1 of 1954, the new legislation was approved.

Officially the holiday became a day to remember veterans of America for all wars.

You’d also be surprised that people also confuse Labor Day with honoring the troops as well. Labor Day is a holiday to commemorate American workers, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the military.

Interest Rates on the Rise: How Does that Affect me?

You may be aware that The Fed has recently raised the rate at which banks borrow and coupled with market volatility home loan interest rates have risen dramatically and sooner than most expected. The predominant question in everyone’s minds is will the market crash? In my opinion the answer is that it will not crash.

Many of the trends that have been driving the market upward are still in place and the forecast that most likely the housing market is will stay strong.

In my opinion what matters most is what you can qualify for and afford and how that payment compares to the cost of renting, Remember that buying a home translates to equity and stability, but when renting the landlord could sell tomorrow. If you are selling then the market you are moving into is most likely slowing as well. Interest rates are still quite affordable. So yes, it is still a good time to buy or sell.

As a Buyer you may need to rethink your search, think of this purchase as a first step and plan on moving up in the next few years and either transfer your equity or keep your initial home as an investment.

Some advice for Buyers or Seller is to lessen the effect would be to revisit your budget and look at ways to lower personal debts. Review your credit report and check all the things that may be negatively impacting your credit score. A higher credit score generally
