In 1925 in rural Montana, brothers Phil (Benedict Cumberbatch) and George Burbank (Jesse Plemons) Burbank run their successful family ranch together, despite their differences; George is soft spoken and focused on political and business relationships, while Phil is tough and focused on the day to day life of ranching . Soon, their relationship begins to fracture when George falls for a local widow and decides to bring her and her son to live on the ranch, bringing Phil perilously close to having a long kept secret exposed . THE POWER OF THE DOG is a sweeping story of family and betrayal, love and loss and Montclair Film is proud to present it as the Closing Film of the 10th Annual Montclair Film Festival .
