LOVE FROM PAIGE

“I have so many emotions writing this right now. It feels like just yesterday I was a wide-eyed bride to be, eagerly flipping through these very pages, soaking up all the details and inspiration, just dreaming of our perfect day. I am so grateful for Montana Bride for creating such an amazing resource for brides and making wedding planning so fun!”

paige + bernard

“Believe it or not, our love story started on Instagram! One day Bernard stumbled upon one of my photos and couldn’t resist hitting the follow button. Shortly after, I followed him back, and he slid head first into my messages. After a week or so of messaging, and some small talk back and forth, we decided to take the plunge and meet in person. It’s safe to say it was pretty much love at first sight. From the moment we sat down, the conversation flowed effortlessly. It was like we were the only two people in the world – lost in our own bubble of laughter and connection. I had texted my sister after our date, ‘I think I love him, he’s perfect.’ It was that very text she had saved and included in her speech at our wedding! It goes without saying, from that first date forward, we were inseparable.”

“As if fate hadn’t already shown us, we came across something that truly proved we were meant to be. It was summer of 2021 and after dating for a few months, we were sharing life stories with one another. We started talking about the night before the Covid shutdown, and to our surprise, we were at the same bar on the same night, unknowingly! We started going through our pictures of that night, and there was Bernard, photo-bombing one of my photos! We couldn’t believe it – it was like the universe was trying to tell us something. We laughed so hard and thought, ‘if only we had noticed each other that night we could have met so much earlier!’ It’s a story we love to tell because it goes to show that sometimes destiny has a funny way of bringing people together when they least expect it!”

THE WEDDING

“Being from Long Island, New York, and deciding to have a destination wedding in Paradise Valley, Montana, all anyone could ask us was, ‘why Montana?’ I guess in hindsight it may have seemed random at first, but to us it always made so much sense! Our love for travel and adventure was a huge part of the start of our love story. Some of our best memories are from various trips we’ve taken together all over the world, so when it came to wedding planning, it was a given we wanted something that expressed this. We were in search of an intimate setting to be surrounded by loved ones and celebrate our marriage. The minute we found Copper Rose Ranch, we knew it was the one. The idea of exchanging vows in the mountains included the touch of nature and romance we were looking for. We loved it so much that we actually booked it without seeing it in person first – I know, we are crazy, but we had absolutely no doubt that this was our place. Needless to say, it exceeded our expectations. Montana’s natural beauty took all of the stresses out of planning because no matter what you plan, it will be breathtaking!

We decided not to strictly adhere to all of the typical wedding traditions. Instead, we planned a celebration that reflected who we are as a couple and what we value most. Our family and friends came a long way to be there on our big day, and it meant the world to us. We wanted to make sure we spent as much time as possible with them, so we structured our celebration to allow for plenty of quality time all together. After all, this is one of the very few times in life where you both have all of your friends and family in the same place at the same time – it’s a very special experience. We reconfigured

the scheduling of events for our day by beginning the reception with first dances, speeches and dinner, which allowed for the rest of the night to be truly our own.

Instead of doing a cake cutting, we served our favorite Huckleberry Cheesecake from Livingston Bar & Grille. This was also a place that had become very special to us throughout the wedding planning process, as that was our date night spot whenever we were in town. So it was little details like this that made our day unique and that our guests truly loved!

Our vendors also played a huge part in what made this day so extraordinary. We had the best vendor team; all who knew the venue and each other very well. It made for the most seamless day. We are forever grateful to all of them!

When we reflect back on this most incredible day of our lives, there is one moment in particular that is our favorite. After dinner, it was time for Bernard and I to slip away from the festivities for pictures. Our photo and video team, Opal & Ox, came to us with the news that it had started to rain and asked if we still wanted to take the photos outside like we had discussed. Without hesitation, Bernard and I exchanged glances and agreed on our shared resolve to seize every moment of this special day. We laughed and danced in the rain, embracing the unpredictability of the weather as it was a true testament to the spontaneity and adventure that marked our love story. When a double rainbow suddenly appeared in the valley, we knew there was nowhere else in the world we were supposed to be in that moment than right there. It was as if nature joined in on the celebrations.

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“Remember this is your day! Try not to let the details and stresses get to you. The whole point is to celebrate your love. Soak it all up, as it truly is one of the best days of your life! Take moments throughout your wedding day to look around and take it all in. It goes by so fast, but these are moments you will remember forever! Don’t forget to delegate tasks and accept help when offered. Lastly, remember some things might not go as planned and that’s okay! Only you know what is supposed to happen, no one else will know if something doesn’t go the way you planned it. Embrace the imperfections and savor every moment.”

SACAGAWEA PEAK

“Bernard and I love to travel the world together, and hiking is one of our favorite things to do at any destination. When it came time for our wedding celebrations, we wanted to find a way to incorporate this into the plan. Opal & Ox had a vision that aligned with everything we could have imagined for our mountaintop wedding. Kristi and Ralphie share our passion for adventure, so together, we made our plans come to life! We experienced about every climate from the bottom of Sac Peak Trail to the top. On this summer day in July, we found ourselves walking through snow and were greeted by cold winds at the peak. We also had unexpected guests join our party when a mama and baby mountain goat crossed our path. Thanks to the skill and dedication of Opal & Ox, we are able to relive this magical day, preserving these mountaintop memories for years to come. Winning the cover photo is incredibly meaningful to us – not just for the honor of our love story being featured, but also because it represents the journey we had with Kristi and Ralphie. They have become good friends, and we are rooting for each other in all aspects of life.”

VOWS WITH A VIEW

“As we said our vows against the gorgeous mountain backdrop, we knew the moment would be etched in our hearts forever.”

KAYLEE + CALEB

NATIONAL PARK

“Caleb and I met thanks to social media. He found me through mutual friends, and after an undetermined amount of time, finally reached out. To this day, he likes to say that I made the first move. It’s hard to know exactly when we fell in love, but from the start, it felt like our souls were connected, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We chose to elope because we wanted to avoid all of the stress a big wedding can create. Instead, we wanted a relaxing day that was just about the two of us and the commitment we were making to each other. It was truly special: We had an incredible day filled with so much love while simultaneously experiencing the beauty of Glacier National Park.”

AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE

“We chose to write our own vows and exchange them prior to the ceremony. It was so emotional for both of us, and we will forever cherish having those special moments to look back on. Despite the crazy weather we had – rain then snow, and being completely drenched and freezing cold – the day was all ours. My hair and makeup team, as well as our photographer, Elsa, made all the difference in ensuring the day was stress-free. Getting ready without leaving our Airbnb was so convenient, and Elsa literally had a hand in all of the planning, from choosing the best area to book lodging, to picking up my bouquet before the ceremony. She went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of! We stayed in Montana for a few days after our wedding and spent our time hiking and exploring the beautiful park! It was a completely unforgettable week for us.”

CREATING YOUR UNIQUE DAY

Are you dreaming of a wedding day that is beautiful, personal and intentional? Creating a day that is unique can be as simple as focusing on what’s most important to you (Is it the florals? Is it the band?), hiring an out-of-this-world vendor team, and letting them do their boo-thang. And yet, something that seems so simple, is hard to do. This stunning Bozeman styled shoot began with a dreamy color palette from florist Hannah Ohman of Rowan & Larch – and a team who got behind it one hundred percent. The result, as you can see, is simply stunning. Here we answer your frequently asked questions in conquering that special wedding day.

How do we reflect our individuality in a beautifully designed way?

Admittedly, this is challenging because inspiration so often comes from things that have been done before. You’re trying to avoid copying what you see on social media, but the ideas are great! What if something you will already be deciding on for your wedding could make it unique? Consider this example: You are going to have a color palette, there’s no doubt of that, but choosing one that’s out-of-the-ordinary can set your day apart from all the others. Even combining classic wedding colors in an unusual combination can take your wedding to the next level. And – bonus – it doesn’t cost you anything more.

For our shoot, we decided the driving design element would be the color palette. If the colors had been white with greenery, it would have been nice, but commonplace. Instead, with its saturated blushes, warm gold tones, lemon-lime greenery and that pop of contrasting mauve, the result is certainly not ordinary.

takeaway Look for the least confusing, highest impact places to make your event unique. It doesn’t have to be hard to make your day stand out – even just the color palette will do. Other options might be the location (a rooftop reception space like at the AC Hotel, shown here, perhaps?), or the groom’s attire (see our groom’s rose-colored suit from Friar Tux), or even non-traditional moments in the order of events (our couple ran to the courthouse to tie the knot!).

How do I feel less stressed while planning my wedding?

Any bride or groom who has experienced the first few steps of wedding planning has surely felt the pressure from a myriad of directions. The most vital way to de-stress is to hire a good planner. After deciding the budget and securing the venue, this should be your next decision. Couples sometimes prematurely hire their other vendors, but you should let the planner help you choose, as she or he is the day’s captain and will keep it running smoothly. Chances are, your planner will know the

strengths of each vendor and can get you the exact team you need for your design. This is especially important if you are planning your Montana wedding from out of state. Kris Bart, of Happenings, helped create the team for this shoot; she also created the design, kept the day running smoothly and on time, and made it so fun!

takeaway Do your research and hire your planner carefully. This person is going to be your right hand and go-to contact for vendors and guests. Make sure the two of you vibe, and you love their design ideas for your day.

How do I get the look I want?

First, find inspiration prior to approaching your vendors. A Pinterest board of 50 to 75 pins will do the trick. Only pin ideas that reflect the trajectory for your unique event design. Veteran wedding vendors don’t need hundreds of images to understand your mood, theme, color palette, etc., but don’t expect them to recreate your pins exactly. Your board should be a design starting point, not a duplicate of what you want.

In the design shown here, we began with a 64-image Pinterest board and each vendor took that general inspiration and added elements within their own strengths and expertise and made suggestions for hair and makeup, linens, tabletop design, and more. When handed creative freedom within the color palette and our classic, modern inspiration, the result was beautiful.

Secondly, if the vendors you hire are the best of the best, you’ll be able to bring your inspiration to them and give them creative freedom. They’ll have amazing ideas that you will never have dreamed of! Often, vendor input during the planning phases are what breathes life into the entire design.

takeaway If your vendors are experienced in their craft, then they study and create wedding looks all the time. Lean into their suggestions, listen to their ideas, and give feedback to help them know if they’re on the right track. So loosen the reins, and let them run with it.

ailani + kellen

“Kellen and I met through mutual friends. A few of his high school buddies, who happened to be some of my closest college friends at the University of Colorado Boulder, brought us together. For nearly five years, we shared only a friendship before romance entered the picture. Our love story began just before the pandemic struck, which we now know reshaped the conventional trajectory of dating. Instead of the usual glamour and excitement of going out, our initial moments were raw and real; we spent most of our time in our comfy clothes, wrapped up together on the couch. The constraints of the pandemic forced us to date each other in reverse. Six months into our relationship, as the city of Los Angeles began to open its doors again, we finally went on our first formal date.”

“ The true turning point in our relationship came with the unexpected tragic loss of one of our dearest friends. In the face of profound grief, there was a fear that it might overwhelm us and lead to a fracture. Yet, in the midst of sorrow, our friend became an unexpected source of strength. Confronting the toughest period of our lives, we learned an invaluable lesson about the fragility of life and how precious it is. From that moment on, we clung to each other, recognizing our love for one another. The experience made us realize we wanted to be in each other’s lives forever.”

WEDDING DAY

“From the start of the planning process, we went in with the mindset that a wedding is essentially a big party with your favorite people. We weren’t afraid to deviate from tradition, and we injected fun and personal touches throughout.

In breaking from tradition, we had our beloved chocolate lab (Bean Dip Lockwood) join the bridal party, Kellen’s grandmother charmingly assumed the role of our flower girl, and his brother officiated the ceremony. Our celebration was simple and truly enjoyable – it helped that there was an open bar, delicious food, and great music!

Instead of extravagant floral arrangements and excessive details, we opted to let the natural beauty of Montana shine through. Our ceremony was held against the breathtaking backdrop of the Bridger Mountains, offering panoramic views from the venue’s vista. Dinner was served outside, allowing us to watch the sunset and enjoy the serenity of the surroundings. The entire day balanced a casual charm with elevated moments.

The highlight of it all was our private first look. This special time provided an opportunity for us to appreciate the significance of the occasion together, and exchanging our vows one-onone created an intimate memory that will forever be etched in our hearts. It also helped minimize pre-wedding jitters!”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“My advice to future brides: Don’t be afraid to steer away from conventional expectations! Identify a couple of key elements that are most important to you, and don’t let minor details become overwhelming. The entire experience goes by in a flash, so carve out time with your partner during dinner or the reception (or whenever it feels right) to step back, pause, and soak in the moment. It’s a simple way to savor the joy of the occasion.”

“A lot of our energy during the planning process was focused on every last personalized detail we could think of. It’s the little things that make a big impression at a wedding and what the guests will remember. We wanted them to be able to feel our relationship through the design. Our love is big, and we couldn’t think of anything more vast than Glacier National Park! We wanted to include the elements of being in nature while still maintaining romance and elegance. Our wonderful wedding planner, Jennifer, helped bring that vision to life! The color palette incorporated soft wildflower tones and light greenery through our florals, candles, place settings and textiles. We even added silk butterflies to our seating chart and place cards to play into the whimsical and ethereal vibe. The venue has an innate western feel with the mountains and the cocktail hour pole barn, so we hosted a westernthemed welcome party and incorporated white Lane cowboy boots into the grand finale party outfit.”

TAKING IN THE VIEW

“There was a brief moment between our cocktail hour and reception when we hung back from our guests and sat together on a stone bench overlooking the venue. We were quietly admiring the breathtaking views of the mountains as the sun began to set. In that time of reflection, we got to share with each other how much the day meant to the both of us. Taking those few moments to ourselves felt right; a moment we will never forget!”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“Get your formal invitations out as soon as possible! Avoid rush fees by starting the stationery process earlier; those RSVPs drive a huge part of the final planning process (seating chart, catering counts, hotel block release, place cards, etc.). So get those invitations designed and in the mail, stat!”

“I was living with my brother, Cy. He had some friends over the same night I had invited a few girlfriends out for a girls’ night. Kade was one of Cy’s friends that came over. Shortly after they walked in, my brother announced that I was off limits. Soon after, Kade started coming over for a friend’s dinner every Sunday and our connection quickly became undeniable. Cy had given us the okay and jokingly told Kade that if he was going to date me, he better make it official. Nine months later he proposed, and six months after that we were married.”

FAMILY HEIRLOOM

“My wedding band is my dad’s. It’s a simple, gold working-man band. My parents just celebrated 29 years married, and his ring didn’t fit him anymore; his working hands were just too beat up, and he wanted me to have it. We sized it down, and I am proud to carry their love into our marriage. Being my dad’s only daughter, I am lucky to wear it, and Kade and I want to pass it down to our daughter someday.”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“Stay an arms distance or within ear shot of your partner on your wedding day! This helps you stay present for each other, your photographer, and all your guests will be able to say hello. Also, do what feels right for you and how you picture the day to flow. There will be a lot of voices saying what you should do, or what you are doing is traditional, unconventional, or it’s right or wrong. You two are the ones getting married, and if it’s how you both picture it, that’s when you know it’s right!”

We are big skiers, especially Kyle, so we wanted to have a wedding day that would capture what we love to do together and what our friends love to do as well. We planned on the guests being at the top of the mountain for the ceremony. I didn’t realize how beautiful it would be until I made it to the top of the hill on the chairlift. I had my mom at my side, and all our friends and family were waiting for us to walk down the aisle. It was a beautiful moment.”

andrea + andrew

“Andrew and I started talking in March of 2020, right at the beginning of Covid. We were just two adults on the dating app Hinge, at the same time, in the same city. Our communication was very minimal at first; we scheduled and rescheduled a few times before we finally had a date planned. By that time, everything was shut down in Minneapolis. Our first date was an eight mile walk around the city starting at Boom Island Park. One mile led to the next as we shared about ourselves. Towards the end of the date, one of us asked, ‘What is the first dog you want to get?’ and the other started saying, ‘Nova Scot–’ and we finished the sentence together. We knew right then we were destined for each other. As our relationship progressed, we found common interests like staying active and traveling. We began exploring national parks together, and Glacier National Park was one of the first ones we visited. We fell in love with the area and the park and knew it would be a special place to say I do. Montana will forever hold a place in our hearts, and we hope to take an annual trip to enjoy it and reminisce on our special day.”

GLACIER ADVENTURES

“We had an adventure photography session on the east side of Glacier National Park with our photographer, Elsa, and videographers the day after our wedding. It was more fun than I could have ever imagined! With the incredible scenery, and our amazing team there to not just capture the moments, but also make it fun and feel natural to my husband and I, we didn’t feel like we were in a photo session. Instead, we were just living in every moment of being in one of our most cherished places. Also, there’s nothing like walking into the cold glacier waters to wake you right up, and we would do it all over again! Remember that you will never get this opportunity back; when you have the chance, go all out!”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“Enjoy every single moment. Take time for yourself and for you both as husband and wife. It’s easy to worry about others and how everything looks, but try not to stress about those things. Let your love for each other be what guides you through the day.”

DELANEY + TYLER

“A true meet-cute – we met at our former apartment complex just by passing each other in the hallways, picking up each other’s mail, etc. At first, we were truly just friends, but then Tyler kept asking me on dates. After about six asks, I finally gave in. We fell in love very shortly after and then moved into a new apartment at our same complex, together.”

THE PROPOSAL

“We got engaged on December 2nd, 2022. Tyler took me to the spot he had previously asked me to be his girlfriend and had an incredible evening planned. I thought we were going to watch the tree lighting in downtown and then grab dinner at our favorite restaurant (shout out to La Peer Seafood and Steak in Alpharetta, Georgia). Little did I know, he was going to pop the question and then ask me to take pictures by the tree. When we got to the tree, all of our immediate family was there! They joined us for dinner in celebration of me saying “YES.” On our way out of the restaurant, I walked into the main bar area and all of my closest friends were there to surprise me. Tyler had my friends from across the country fly in! I was in true shock, and unstoppable tears. It was a night I will never forget. We drank and danced the night away with the people who mean the most to us.”

What stands out as the best part of your day?

“Just pure, uncontainable joy. The weather was gorgeous, the views were gorgeous, and Tyler and I and our families were truly beaming. Getting ready on the side of the road in Yellowstone National Park is pretty epic, and walking across a field to your husband is indescribable. People search for a feeling like this – just plainly, unforgettable.”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“Do it. The experience was so special and intimate. Being out in God’s work of art, surrounded by family and the person you chose to be your partner, is just bliss. Eloping was a decision that we will never regret. Brides, do your research! There are so many incredible options and locations in Montana. I would change absolutely nothing.”

skylar + colter

“Colter and I are college sweethearts! We met through mutual friends our sophomore year and quickly became close. I knew our friendship was changing when I was abroad in the fall of 2014. We wrote long emails to each other and began sharing our personal thoughts and experiences, and our feelings for each other grew stronger. When we returned to school for winter quarter, Colter was the person I wanted to see the most. A few weeks later, he professed his feelings, and we have been together ever since. Colter and I are best friends and each other’s biggest supporters. Our shared values have guided us through job changes, a cross-country move, long distance, and the natural ups and downs of life. We wanted to make sure our wedding was a true expression of us as a couple: fun, serious, silly, joyful, loving, and had our people at the heart of it. Our friends and family live all over the world, so we decided early on to have a destination wedding. Our community means the world to us, so we crafted a weekend itinerary where everyone could relax, enjoy, and get to know each other in a place that we love.”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“When you begin planning, sit down and figure out what is important to you and your fiancé. We focused on a handful of features that we cared a lot about and leaned on our vendors for the rest. This let us spend time on what was important and not get overwhelmed by the details in areas we did not care as much about. Secondly, build a team of vendors that you really connect with. Our planner, Sarah Gasbarro, understood us and worked at planning a wedding that felt authentic to who we are as a couple.”

“Growing up, Colter spent his summers in the Flathead Valley, and during our eight years of dating, I fell in love with the mountains and the beautiful lakes in Montana. Flathead Lake Lodge, with its incredible hospitality and special location right on the lake, was the perfect venue for us. We incorporated things we love into the wedding weekend: a group hike in the Jewel Basin, a welcome party at a family home, a rehearsal dinner after party with live music at the Garden Bar in Bigfork, and tons of lake activities. Our wedding was full of subtle details that made it feel authentic to us. Some of my favorite elements included sourcing our favorite wine from our go-to neighborhood restaurant in NYC to serve at our wedding dinner, wearing the same veil my mom wore at my parents’ wedding 30 years ago, and personal notes to each guest as our seating chart. Colter and I love to be silly and have fun, so we started the evening of dancing with an 80s disco-inspired first dance to Gloria by Laura Branigan. The dance floor was packed all night – from the minute The MAC Band started to play, all the way to the last song of our silent disco (put on by the amazing Peak Audio team).”

A DREAM COME TRUE

“Our ceremony was full of vulnerability, joy, laughter, and so much love. It felt surreal walking over the bridge onto the island with both of my parents and seeing sweet Colter tear up under our chuppah. Our friend Nathalie prepared a modern take on the Seven Blessings, a beautiful part of a Jewish wedding ceremony. My paternal grandmother was not able to make it to Montana, so my brother read some remarks she wrote for us in the weeks before. We are both close to my grandmother, so it was a meaningful, emotional moment. Colt and I wrote our own vows; reading my vows on a gorgeous day in front of our closest friends and family was a moment I’ll never forget. After lots of tears, smiles, and laughter, we broke the glass, kissed, and were married! Since choosing Flathead Lake Lodge as our venue more than a year before our wedding, I envisioned our guests streaming along the lake from the ceremony to cocktail hour in the late afternoon sunshine. Seeing it come to life was a dream come true!”

KLOYEE + KAMERON

“Kameron and I met in high school. We grew up right outside of Asheville, North Carolina, and went to neighboring high schools. We knew of each other, but that was it. At the end of my senior year (his junior year), he came into the restaurant I was working at to eat dinner with his family. A week later, Kameron reached out and asked me on a date. Initially, I saw it as a possible summer fling before leaving for my first semester of college. But once we started hanging out, it became clear it was much more. We began dating one month before I left for The University of Alabama. During that month, we fell in love and decided to try a long-distance relationship. That year, Kameron visited me at school, and I came home for the holidays. The next year, he began his freshman year at North Carolina State University (NCSU) where he was playing football, and I decided to take a semester off of school, be at home, and figure out what my next steps would be. After getting accepted into the Fashion and Design program at NCSU in January of that year, I joined him in Raleigh. We dated throughout the rest of college, where I cheered him on through four years of football, we made lifelong friendships, and both graduated with our degrees.”

“I scheduled my graduation pictures to be taken in April, and Kameron planned to accompany me and bring our dog, Bennett. We planned for them to be in some of my photos because they were such a big part of my time at college. I was completely unaware of Kameron’s plans: Toward the end of our photos, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, and I said, yes, of course!

The ring he proposed with holds so much meaning. Kameron’s biological father passed away in a car accident when he was only two years old while his mother was pregnant with his younger brother. His biological parents were high school sweethearts and shared an epic love story. His mother gave him her ring from his father and Kameron took it to a jeweler where he had the diamonds placed in a new setting he designed himself. It is such an honor to wear it, and the sentimental value is something we both hold on to so preciously.”

What made you choose Montana?

“We had significant circumstances that brought eloping to the forefront of our minds. My parents went through a very tough divorce, and because of that, we saw obstacles ahead in the wedding planning process that led us to entertaining the idea of an elopement. We began looking into different parts of the world that we had never visited but had dreams of discovering together. We were searching for a feeling in this process, and when we came across The Ranch at Rock Creek we knew instantly it was the place we wanted to start our lives together as one. It was unique to all of the other places we had researched because we saw an experience there. A place where we could not only say ‘I do,’ but a place we could make memories that would last a lifetime. The Ranch at Rock Creek offers an all-inclusive experience: They handle the planning of the ceremony, provide a list of local vendors, offer fivestar accommodations and guided activities like horseback riding, fly fishing, shooting, hiking, and more. Our wedding was more than one single day or moment; we felt it truly engulfed all that Montana is.

With elopements, there is a fear of being alone or regretting not having the big day surrounded by your friends and family, but this was not the case for us. We were surrounded by new people who opened their hearts up to us and made sure the entire experience was catered around the beauty of two people choosing to spend the rest of their lives together. The staff at The Ranch at Rock Creek, our photographer and videographer, Macy and CJ, and the hair and makeup artist, Brittnee, morphed into our friends and family that day. Although they were strangers who we had only communicated with over email, it felt like they had been a part of our five-year-long love story. Every dream we had came true because of the people who were a part of our day, and it was completely and utterly about the marriage covenant we were entering into with one another and our God. There were no distractions, and we could both be consumed by our reality and each other.”

“Do your research. Find a place that is dedicated to making your wishes and dreams come true –whatever those might be. Find vendors who align with your beliefs as well as your personalities. Trust your gut and intuition, and focus solely on you and your spouse to be. The day will come to an end, and when it does, you want to have complete peace and happiness that you did not compromise your dreams and desires for anyone. I would personally not change a thing about our experience.”

LINDSEY + TIM

“We met over Labor Day weekend in 2015 at Chico Hot Springs. Tim was minding his own business when he noticed me from across the parking lot and says he knew right then that I was the one. I saw him on the dance floor later that night and made the first move. The Red Elvises were playing, the stars aligned, and the rest was history. Three weeks later, I returned to Southern California before moving back to Montana to finish college. We had a long-distance relationship for eight months and dated for almost five years before Tim finally popped the question atop a mountain on a horseback riding trip.

Tim was born and raised in Livingston, Montana, and holds a deep appreciation for the mountains. I fell in love with Montana when my dad moved to Paradise Valley in 2004. There was no question that we would get married in the beautiful state that brought us together.

The vision for our wedding was to be surrounded by Montana’s natural beauty but with an added touch of elegance. We were married at Alpine Falls Ranch in Superior, Montana, and our dream became a reality. From the 300 acres of stunning Montana scenery, to the vintage saloon, it was truly unforgettable.”

Photography Fotografed @fotografed_

talia + cory

“In 2017, Cory and I, two strangers at the time, both moved to the same beach town on the east coast of Florida to pursue new careers. It took us two years to find each other. In 2019, we met at one of our now favorite bars, Copperhead Tavern. A quick and casual conversation led to a first date, and that first date led to many more. Our mutual love of sports, music, and traveling brought us closer together. So close in fact, that I asked Cory to go to Mexico with me for a work trip after just three months of seeing each other. Mexico sealed the deal, and we saw each other almost every day following the trip. This led us into the global pandemic, where we spent all of our time together at the beach, quarantining from the world. It was either sink or swim at that point, but we both knew what we had was special. We decided to choose each other from then on.”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“First and foremost, if you are considering having your elopement or wedding in Montana, do it! Your friends and family will thank you later! More than that, you and your partner will never forget the grand nature of the state and the memories shared there. Secondly, do what makes you happy! Your energy and vibe will dictate the mood of the whole event; if you’re having a good time, everyone else will feel the comfort to do the same. This makes for the most fun and carefree day!”

“The music and location really made our wedding feel like us. We personalized our playlist with the help of our DJ from RMF, and we’ve had many friends ask us for the playlist since! It felt like all of our guests were on the dance floor with us, enjoying the tunes. We also got incredibly lucky with the weather, for which we were extremely grateful. Having an outdoor wedding was a must for us, and the beautiful state of Montana and The Lodge at Whitefish Lake made it all possible. Having our guests stay at the Lodge for the entire weekend made it feel like a celebration for three days straight. Choosing The Lodge at Whitefish Lake as our venue was one of the best decisions we have ever made!”

ashley + michael

“In December 2021, Michael and I were visiting my family in Alabama for Christmas. We had only been there for a day when he told me just the two of us were going to go out to dinner. I tried to refuse since I had not seen my family in a long time, but my mom intervened and told me to just go. Michael acted very off at the restaurant, and then drove very slowly on our way back. When we pulled up to the house, all of the lights were off except for the glow of string lights in the horse barn. That’s when I caught on. We got out of the car, and even though it was raining, he walked me across the field to the barn. The barn was lit up beautifully with hanging lights and candles. He slyly put on one of our favorite songs, “On My Way to You” by Cody Johnson and got down on one knee. After I said “yes,” we sipped champagne while my family made their way out to us. Turns out, the minute we left for dinner, my parents, brother, and sweet grandparents rushed out to decorate everything as fast as they could! It was such a special moment in my favorite barn surrounded by the ones I love most.”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“Trust your instincts. Planning a wedding can be stressful! I promise you once the day arrives, everything falls into place, and it is all worth it. Also, when you and your closest people have been dancing all night, that surprise pizza at about 9 p.m. is a huge hit!”

“It was wild that it snowed the day of our wedding! According to the venue owners, they had never had a winter wedding at that time of the year (October 27). Although it wasn’t in the plans, we loved it and thought it made the day that much more special. Our black and white classic theme went perfectly with the winter wonderland. I wanted an elegant mountain wedding and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.”

This shoot was about being creative, having fun, and not letting anything stand in your way. We adore Barbie’s unapologetic, carefree spirit, and we used that energy to create magic.” –

“It all started with my favorite color: pink! I knew magenta would carry weight as the Pantone color of 2023, but when the Barbie movie was due to come out, the inspiration only grew! When dreaming up this shoot, I knew I needed to collaborate with a team who would be willing to take it to the next level. “Elope! Just the two of you. We had absolutely no stress and were able to focus our energy on each other without worrying about anything or anyone else. I am so glad we did this, because for the rest of my life, I will remember our wedding as a perfect day.”

LYDIA + CHRIS

“Chris and I met through a mutual friend in 2015, and we clicked immediately. We became inseparable best friends who did everything together. Soon, we had an unspoken love for one another and started to develop feelings, but we were both scared to ruin our friendship if a romantic relationship didn’t work out. We spent nearly five years trying to run away from how we really felt and distanced ourselves from each other. One day, after several months of being apart, Chris called me from a hunting trip to tell me he was coming home and wanted to take me to dinner. At the time, I had convinced myself that I was over him so I said ‘sure.’ I didn’t know it then, but the reason Chris called me that day was because he was hunting alone and had encountered a huge buck, but he told himself it wasn’t the same if I wasn’t with him to share in the experience (he introduced me to bow hunting, and we had gone on many hunts together). He came home and we went to dinner. From that night on, we were together nearly every single day and the feelings returned. Fast forward a couple of months, and he told me he loved me, and we never looked back.”

THE PROPOSAL

“I knew Chris would propose one day (because he couldn’t stop talking about it), but I didn’t know how or when. He came home from a work trip in July 2022, and we were so excited to see each other. I made dinner, we sat outside by the fire pit and started listening to our favorite playlist. For weeks he had been waking me up in the middle of the night asking, ‘Are you going to marry me?’ and I would say ‘yes.’ As we sat there cuddled up by the fire listening to music, he asks, ‘Are you going to marry me?’ And I said ‘yes.’ He asked, ‘How do I know?’ and I said, ‘Well, if you’d just ask!’ He replied, ‘I ask you every night,’ and proceeded to pull out the ring. He didn’t even have a chance to say anything else, because we became two blubbering messes embracing each other.”

WEDDING DAY

“It was just us; no friends, no family, and it was absolutely perfect. We were fully immersed in every second with no distractions. Our hearts and souls were in sync; it truly felt like we were one unit. At each location in Glacier National Park, we took our time to be fully present – to experience together one of the most amazing places we have ever seen. After exchanging vows and signing our marriage license, I decided to lay down on the rock at Sun Point – wedding dress, veil, dirt, rocks and all. Chris walked over, straightened the train of my dress and laid down right next to me. We stayed there for a few minutes, holding hands in silence and could not have felt more connected to nature and God than in that moment.”

AMY + WYATT

“Wyatt and I grew up in eastern Montana and knew of each other throughout high school and college. After graduating from college, I moved to Miles City, where Wyatt was ranching. One summer, we were at a local concert, when one of our mutual friends asked us why we weren’t together. At the time, we both just shrugged our shoulders, laughed and said we hadn’t thought of it! We ended up dancing and playing pool the rest of the night and began dating shortly after!”

THE PROPOSAL

“On a warm Saturday afternoon in September, Wyatt told me that we needed to check the water for the cows that were a few miles away from our house. I didn’t think much of it, as checking water was a common chore throughout the summer. When we got to the pasture the cows were in, I got out to open the gate, and when I got back in, Wyatt kept driving. He drove right past the cows and two water tanks and up to the top of a hill, which was one of our favorite views and places to hang out and watch sunsets. I thought it was a little odd that we didn’t even look at the cows or check the tanks, but I didn’t question it because I wasn’t in a hurry. After we parked, I started throwing a stick for our dogs. I heard Wyatt walk over toward me, and when I turned around he had the ring out and asked me to marry him. I was so surprised, and it was the easiest ‘yes’ of my life!”

WEDDING DAY

“Our wedding was everything we could have dreamed of and more! Both of us come from small, tight-knit, eastern Montana communities with agricultural roots. I’ve always loved the idea of a big wedding, but keeping it personal and making sure our guests felt welcome was a main priority. The ceremony was held at my aunt and uncle’s farm a few miles out of Miles City. This added sentimental value as it’s where I lived when I moved back after college, and where Wyatt and I had one of our first dates (carving pumpkins in October 2020). We used small square bales from my parent’s ranch for seating, and most of the decor was borrowed from family members. The bridal party came in on a wagon pulled by my aunt and uncle’s Clydesdales and driven by my uncle. Our officiant was my pastor and youth group leader growing up, and we had him end the ceremony with a special reading. All of the small, personal touches were what made our day special to us!

The best part of it all was getting to celebrate with our families, friends, and community. We were able to invite all of our favorite people to the same location and enjoy great food, dancing and laugher. The people who helped with the wedding, supported us, and showed up to celebrate truly mean the world to us, and we will never be able to thank them enough!”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“Weddings can be very stressful – don’t forget the reason for the celebration, and make sure to have some time scheduled in to appreciate each other and soak in the day. Wyatt and I made sure to stick together at the reception when we were visiting with our guests, and gave ourselves a ‘cut-off’ time. When that time arrived, we went to the dance floor and enjoyed the rest of the night with our bridal party and friends!”

“We found each other through a dating app, and Alex flew to Denver from Montana to meet me for the first time. And, like out of an airport scene in a movie, we met, and instantly knew this was our forever.”

THE PROPOSAL

“I love to snowboard, so when I made a trip to Montana to visit Alex for his birthday in February, he took me to Whitefish Mountain to experience his local hill. We went night riding, and at the end of a run, he got down on one knee and popped the question next to a ski sign that read, “Kendall E, Marry Me, Laasch Way.” Alex was prepared and had hired Photography By Brogan to document the surprise! Romeo &Juliet

Welcome to the clash of the classic, romantic love story of Romeo & Juliet with the ‘90s, punk rock remake; romance meets rock ‘n’ roll. This incredible session was inspired by the ‘90s Baz Luhrman cinematic remake of Romeo & Juliet .

The day included an intimate candlelit ceremony, dramatic alleyway wedding portraits (a nod to When Doves Cry , featured in the soundtrack) and a backyard pool session – all based on major scenes from the cult classic.

The film is riddled with car chases, gun fights, bloody brawls and overthe-top characters – drama galore. We embraced that bold energy and ran with it creating a colorful and contemporary session. Our best attempt at a visual feast. – Allison Kazmierski, Font & Figure

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“Do what feels right and don’t be afraid to say no if things aren’t going in the direction you and your fiancé want. We pivoted a few times and were so glad we did. As for execution, I highly recommend a planner. Ours put her heart into our day, and assembled a group of incredible vendors. Don’t be afraid to depart from the norm and take risks.”

erika + brian

“Honestly, our romance unfolded a bit like a Hallmark movie. I had moved to Bozeman from Dallas during the pandemic, for what was meant to be short-term. Several months later, I met Brian and we had our first date over a casual dinner. I was thrilled when he texted me later that night to say he was excited over our meeting, and we agreed to meet up again the next day. We took our time getting to know each other; Brian was so thoughtful about planning romantic dinners, dates and excursions. He’d bring me flowers for no reason, and would show up with popcorn and ice cream to movie nights. I’d often cook him dinners and set beautiful tables with candles and special touches, so we both made a lot of effort for each other. It was easy to fall in love. While pretty opposite personality-wise, we were able to build a foundation on trust, respect, pure love for each other and a lot of laughter. We see the world the same way and saw the potential to grow as a team and create the life we want to live together. So after spending four seasons together, we knew we didn’t want to live without each other.”

“Our original vision called for muted pastels. We knew that would be a beautiful and classic choice, but Brian loves vibrant colors and was gravitating towards brighter tones. It’s hard to put me in a box, and I love making statement choices, so the evolution from safe to bold made sense. It definitely helped to have artists around us. My mom is a watercolorist and an incredible designer. She put together a palette of watercolor hues in pinks, oranges and yellows. This became the palette for all of the details. From there, we decided on the mood of the custom invitation suite by Katie at Lettered Press. We wanted our guests to open their invitation and think, ‘we can’t miss this party.’ For the wedding day, we imagined old world elegance with intense pops of color, and so when Julio from The Flower Hat gave me a sneak peek of the fuchsia orchids that he’d paired with all the other flowers, I knew that he’d nailed it.”

PERFECT MOMENTS

“Q loves surprises, and the most magical moment of the day for him was when I made my entrance to the ceremony on a Clydesdale. It was a gorgeous and touching sight that moved him to tears. For me, Destiny (my horse escort) helped to dissipate all my nerves. As I guided her to the ceremony, I focused on Q, who was standing at the river’s edge. He was so full of happiness, and in that moment, nothing else mattered, and that was the best part of all.”

“We were introduced by a mutual friend in San Francisco back in 2013. Brian (known as ‘Q’) confesses to being smitten right from the start, while I initially approached the connection as friends. We dated for four years off and on. Q was patient and persistent and had a knack for creating unforgettable date nights. We had countless conversations on rooftops and witnessed the most breathtaking sunsets over the Golden Gate Bridge. These experiences solidified our bond as we grew into the best of companions. On July 4, 2017, Q proposed in Montreal, Canada.”

“Ryan and I met in San Diego in 2015 while working at our first jobs after college. Initially, we were just friends, and it wasn’t until nearly a year later that our friendship evolved into a romantic relationship. I turned him down the first time he asked me out, which he playfully teases me about to this day. But it wasn’t too long after that we ran into one another at a local country bar where my roommate was bartending. I was excited to see him, and it was that evening when everything clicked. The conversation was easy, and we genuinely enjoyed each other’s company. We fell in love quickly. Our lives together have been filled with road trips and travel, concerts, living room dancing, campfires, and trying to experience all of the national parks.”

THE WEDDING

“We made the decision early to have a destination wedding. We wanted to choose a location and venue that reflected who we are while also offering guests an experience. One of the many reasons we chose Firelight Farm was because its proximity to Yellowstone National Park allowed our guests to visit before or after our wedding, if they wanted to. Many of our guests did, and it made us happy to share one our favorite places – a place we love.”

SPECIAL TOUCHES

“On our wedding day, we wanted every unique detail to be intentional. It was fun for us to find ways to add personal touches, even subtly with things that everyone may not have noticed, such as adding orchids to my bouquet to honor Ryan’s grandmother who couldn’t attend. Instead of table numbers, we used postcards from national parks and added photos to the backside from our trips to each place. For our guest book, we used a coffee table photo book of Yellowstone National Park. Our guests took Polaroids and added their photos to the book with a note to us. We also hand wrote welcome cards for each guest as a way of sharing our gratitude for having them in our lives. One of my favorite details was placing a scented candle along the bar during the reception. And now, on special occasions, date nights, and anniversaries to come, we light the same candle, and it takes us right back to our wedding night in the barn. Last but not least, Ryan was incredibly excited to have an alma mater flip cup game during cocktail hour (University of California, Santa Barbara versus San Diego State). About 48 hours before the wedding Ryan brought up the idea and I laughed, as if I needed more on my plate! I told him if he could plan it and pull it off, then by all means, go for it. I underestimated how determined he was, and it turned out to be so fun and memorable! The competitive pictures are some of our favorites. While most of these details will fade from guests’ memories, we loved how it all turned out. It is so special to look back on, and truly felt like both of us.”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“It truly goes by so fast so stay present, soak in each moment, and plan for a couple of breaks in your timeline for quality time with each other. Lean into and trust your amazing vendors! They have a ton of knowledge and experience, and are excited to help you pull off your vision. Try not to worry about what you cannot control, like the weather, but be prepared. The weather report changed daily during the week before, so I would suggest selecting a venue that can easily adjust to varying weather and talk about plan B with your coordinators just in case. Our wedding day ended up perfect, but the following fews days were rain and snow!

HANNAH + JORA THE

BARN ON MULLAN | MISSOULA

“Our story began on a winter evening in 2020 in Missoula. We were both in school at the University of Montana and had mutual friends. Jora and his friends had just bought fifty live goldfish to prank one of his new roommates. When my best friend (also my maid of honor) heard goldfish were in danger, she immediately persuaded me to join her on a rescue mission. Jora and I met that day, exchanged numbers, and our adventure began. We fell in love quickly and knew within a month we would get married one day. It’s been four years since that day, and it has been nothing but incredible and full of love. And just to note, most of the goldfish are still under our care today. Jora and I have a home together in Spokane, Washington, with our pup, Stella. We have so many dreams and goals and getting to reach them together means the world.”

THE PROPOSAL

“Jora proposed two years after we met. We were in Leavenworth, Washington, for a getaway and he had planned an evening date at a winery. It was a snowshoe winter stroll through the beautiful property that was full of twinkling lights and gorgeous views. At the end of our walk, we had hot wine fireside. There, Jora got down on one knee. It was amazing and felt personal and peaceful. He said sweet words and placed a gorgeous ring on my finger. Afterward, we went inside the cozy log cabin to have more wine and cheese while we sat by the fireplace and talked. It was truly a special moment for us. We chose the rings and designed them ourselves. Jora’s solid gold band is a way for him to honor his culture. He is Punjabi, and his parents and family are from India, so we wanted to include pieces from his culture as much as we could.”

THE WEDDINGS

“In one week, we had a traditional Indian wedding in Spokane and an American wedding in Missoula, where I am from. We are incredibly close with our friends, so we had large bridal parties, which made the day so fun! Having everyone together truly meant so much to us. I also loved the details we planned that were tailored to our story. One of our guest favors was seed sachets in honor of my grandma who passed recently. We had a popcorn bar (we both love popcorn), and gave out little packages of goldfish, a nod to the day we met. We did our best to make every piece of the day relate to our love story. I wanted it to be a day of true celebration, and I didn’t let any issues get to me. Jor and I are pretty easy going, and I felt our wedding day showed that and represented who we are as a couple.”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“I know it’s cliché, but do not stress yourself too much. You are marrying your best friend in the most beautiful state with those who are most important surrounding you. Don’t overthink the little things, and when the big day comes, let it all go and just focus on being in the moment. It will all work out and seeing your vision come together is so special, even if there are some bumps! Montana is full of incredible people and experienced wedding vendors, so pick those that you feel will add happiness to your day! Having good people is worth every penny. We could never say enough amazing things about all of our vendors! Get ready for the best day of your life and be sure to soak it up.”

MONTANA DIARIES @shayna_lloyd

“We met in 2019 through our jobs – we worked at the same company, but in different cities, so we didn’t know each other. It wasn’t until our company’s annual kickoff conference that Jay spotted me from across the room, introduced himself, and we immediately hit it off. A few months later, things escalated enough between us that he moved from NYC to Washington D.C., where I was living at the time, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. When Covid hit less than a year later, we spent every waking moment together, confirming we were meant to be life partners. I lived with Jay, his parents and siblings for more than six months, and we watched the world change before our eyes. Later that year, we took a trip out West to Montana and Wyoming. We were in awe and started planning our future destination wedding right then and there.”

“I am from the Midwest and Jay is from the East Coast, so the location in and of itself was unique for our friends and family. Most of our guests had never been to Montana or experienced its magic. We put a lot of thought and intention into not just our wedding day, but the entire weekend, and how we could create a memorable event for our friends and family. When it came to choosing a venue, the most important factor was finding a place that could accommodate approximately 100 guests on-site for the entire weekend. We wanted our loved ones to make a vacation out of it – to witness the great Montana Big Sky, to ride horses, fly fish, hike, eat barbecue and do all of the things the area has to offer. 320 Guest Ranch was exactly what we were envisioning. It was so fun to look around in the days leading up to our wedding and see our loved ones enjoying the ranch, leaning into the cowboy lifestyle, and loving Montana just as much as we do.

PERFECT MOMENTS

“If I could go back and relive any part of our wedding, it would be the ceremony. The clouds parted just before I walked down the aisle, the sun was shining, and I was so happy to be marrying Jay in front of all of our closest friends and family. The reception was a close second – our band was fantastic – but nothing beats the ceremony.”

A central focus of the weekend was joining our two families. I lost my mom to cancer just a few weeks before our wedding, so gaining a whole new one in Jay’s family was even more sacred to me. Jay and I didn’t have a bridal party outside of our siblings, instead, we had an entire day leading up to the wedding to be together as a new, combined family (which we spent on ATVs in the Yellowstone wilderness). And lastly, we wove ourselves and our personalities into the little details. One of our favorite parts of our trip in 2020 was looking for moose, elk, and bears, so instead of table numbers we had table animals, with beautiful, commissioned watercolor paintings of each animal. Continuing the animal theme, we had the Big Sky Burros at our welcome party, which were a huge hit with our guests! I rode into the ceremony on an Outlaw Carriage with my brother and sister. Our goal was to have a fun wedding, full of surprises, and I think we pulled it off.”

MISSOULA GREAT FALLS BOZEMAN

kirsten + adam

“Adam and I first met when we were in swim club in eighth and ninth grade and then worked together in high school as lifeguards. We were always just friends (even though Adam had a crush on me). Then I went to college five hours away from our hometown, and we didn’t talk to each other until one day my junior year when I randomly Snapchatted him. A couple weeks later, I went back to Minnesota to visit him, then he visited me, and so our long-distance relationship began. After college, I moved back to my home state and we eventually moved in together, bought a house and got our little golden retriever, River!

The two of us had previously visited Glacier National Park and had fallen in love with it. After our engagement, we knew a small wedding suited us best as we hate being the center of attention. If our wedding was in Minnesota, there was no way it would be small. When thinking of our options, both of us kept going back to how cool it would be to get married in Glacier. With the support of our parents, it ended up being not just the best wedding day, but the best weekend with our immediate family, closest friends, and of course, River.”

SUNSET VOWS

“After dinner, the two of us and our photographer went to Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park to take sunset pictures and read our vows to each other. This time was so special. We got to talk, spend time oneon-one and take it all in together. I also can't think of a more beautiful place to read vows – it was magical!”

“I was born and raised in Billings, Montana. I attended Carroll College in Helena and part of medical school in Montana before moving to Chicago for residency. Two months after moving, I met Adam. It was really romantic: After swiping right on Hinge, we met at a dive bar in Chicago, threw back some tequila, and that was it. We exchanged some medical talk, he tried to explain finance lingo, and before we knew it, we were on many more dates and even got a dog together. Adam says he knew from our first date that I was the one (I don’t actually believe him). We fell in love doing the things we both enjoyed, and effortlessly, Adam went from being my Hinge date to my person.”

“Adam really caught me off guard. He proposed while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It was the last night of our trip – we had spent the afternoon drinking margs in the pool, and I was feeling tired and sunburnt. Adam was so adamant we walk down to the beach to get dinner; naturally, I tried to sabotage his proposal. I asked him no less than ten times if we could order room service or eat at the hotel instead. I told him I wouldn’t be wearing any makeup, and even before going out the door I tried to put on a hat. Good job to Adam for not letting me wear that hideous hat. Little did I know, he had hired a photographer to capture the moment that I turned around to see him down on one knee. I was absolutely shocked and completely caught off guard; never did I think he would be able to surprise me like that. Thankfully, he took my silence as a yes! We spent the evening having a private dinner on the beach and rode that proposal high all the way home the next day. Adam had designed my ring with his friend who is a jeweler at JAS Diamonds. I was completely blown away; I had never seen such a stunning ring. Besides our wedding day, this was the next best day of my life.”

“Being from Montana, I wanted to let the mountains and our state’s natural beauty be the center of attention for our guests. My idea was classy, chic. Many of our friends came from Chicago, and my husband’s family had never been to Montana, so I wanted to keep the colors simple and let the landscape steal the show. We went with white flowers, long black bridesmaids dresses, and green undertones to really tie it together. We wanted our guests to feel captivated by the state, so we made sure their glasses were full and the entertainment was top notch. The Stillwater Strings and The Tiny Band truly helped make our day so much fun and memorable; our guests still talk about the music. Of course, we had to add our own unique spin by having guests throw back customized tequila shots to find their table seat, a nod to the night we met at the bar. Our baby, Clark, (our giant, 80-pound Bernedoodle) had to be a part of our day since he physically couldn’t be there. He was incorporated into the wedding day napkins and even the welcome party. Ultimately, we made our Montana wedding simple chic, with a little A&A flare.”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“The most important decisions you’ll make are choosing your vendors, especially when planning from out of state. Our wedding was possible all because of our planner, Julia, and the vendors she helped choose. Once you have your team, trust them to do their thing; they have years of experience! I felt relaxed about our wedding day because I trusted their expertise. I had the best people in my corner, and I am so thankful to all of them for making our day truly incredible!”

LODGE | PARADISE VALLEY

+ ERIC SAGE

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

“Don’t let anyone or anything rain on your parade! We got lucky when a storm came through the valley just as our ceremony was ending. The scenery made for some moody pictures that we will cherish forever. Ultimately, the sun came out, and we were blessed with a beautiful rainbow during dinner.”

“We met the old-fashioned way – at a bar, in New England. It is still up for debate as to who approached who, but regardless, we are both very happy it happened. Eric is originally from Montana, and I visited several times while we were dating. We always thought it would be the perfect backdrop for a wedding. I remember when I visited Bozeman for the first time I almost drove off the road because I was in awe of how beautiful the mountains were. Fast forward a few years, and we made it our reality.

Our wedding weekend was celebrated with our closest family and friends. Having a smaller wedding allowed us to truly enjoy everyone who was able to make it. Our western welcome party kicked off with music by Ryan Acker, T+E branded appetizers, and an embroidery station where our guests customized their western relics.

We chose to have a private ceremony Saturday afternoon in the rolling hills at the base of Emigrant Peak behind Sage Lodge. Two of our closest friends joined to witness our vows while our wonderful photographers, Jeremiah and Rachel, captured each moment. After a scenic outdoor dinner overlooking the Yellowstone River, we closed out the night with live music from The Tiny Band. We kept the oldies playing, disco balls spinning, and espresso martinis flowing to pair with our retro cake for dessert.”
