These summer resources have been compiled by Ohana to support patients and families to identify potential resources in the community.

CARMEL

Adventures in Writing | aiwcamp.com

Adventures in Writing Camp offers a 2-week online camp for grades 1–8 from June 5–16, July 17–28, and July 31–August 11 from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. Campers enjoy an energetic and musical journey through the process of writing and publishing an eBook (entering grades 1–5) or podcast (entering grades 6–8).

All Saints Day School | cloversports.com

All Saints Day School offers Clover Sports Camp, which offers two-, four-, or eight-week day camps for children ages 5–12. Session 1 (two consecutive weeks) June 5–16; Session 2 (two consecutive weeks) June 19–30; Session 3 (two consecutive weeks) July 10–21; Session 4 (two consecutive weeks) July 24–August 4; Summer Fun (four consecutive weeks) June 5–30 and July 10–August 4; All Summer Long (8 weeks of summer fun) June 5–August 4. Activities include soccer, basketball, dodgeball, frisbee, golf, flag football, and foam field hockey, to name a few.

MEarth Summer Day Camp | mearthcarmel.org

MEarth Summer Day Camp features a two-week curriculum that includes skills and knowledge to plant, care for, harvest, and donate local produce. There will be a focus on the care of local native plant species and an ongoing discussion of the interconnectedness between self, community, and environment.

Microgreens Cooking Camp, 6–8 years old, June 26–30; Green Tweens Cooking Camp, 9–11 years old, July 10–14; Microgreens EcoExplorer Camp, 6–8 years old, July 17–21.

Pac Rep Theatre School of Dramatic Arts | pacrep.org

Offering an array of in-person camps including Broadway Boot Camp, Make a Film, Musical Theatre, and more. Open to ages 6–17 (depending on camp) with weekly sessions taking place from June–August.

Ooze Studio’s Summer Camp | ooze.studio

Alterudiostudio in Carmel Valley is offering Oozing Contagious Creativity programs from June through August, 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. or 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Through this program, kids and teens (5–18) will explore their creative sides through art activities. Rhythmic Gymnastics

Classes for children ages 4+ and all skill levels. Rhythmic gymnastics is an elegant Olympic sport that includes classic ballet, modern dance, and acrobatics. Call (925) 999-5232 or email alakarliuk@gmail.com to learn more.

For ages 3- 17, the Dance Center is offering an array of classes and camps that teach a variety of dancing including ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, acrobatics, musical theater, pointe, hip hop, private pods, and body power. Camps are offered in-person and virtually.

MARINA

Bojuka Ryu: School of Martial Arts | bojukaryu.com

Bojuka Ryu is a place to discover martial arts for children and adults. Classes are offered for all ages including Bojuka Ryu classes for children ages 4+ (depending on class) and women’s Judo classes.

MONTEREY

Artichoke Festival | artichokefestival.org

Held at the historic Monterey County Fair and Event Center, the Artichoke Festival is dedicated to the Heart of the Harvest. This 62-year-old tradition runs from June 10–11 and will celebrate the full range of tastes that the Monterey County farming community has to offer. Events include artichoke cooking demonstrations by local celebrity chefs, a bountiful farmer’s market with freshly harvested produce from Monterey County and beyond, an agricultural education exhibit, live entertainment, and plenty of family-friendly fun activities.

Behavioral Intervention associates offers services to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder by applying Applied Behavior Analysis, as well as trainings and workshops for parents and social skills groups for children ages 5–18.

Monterey County

Central Coast YMCA (habla español) | centralcoastymca.org

Central Coast YMCA is offering Summer Day Camp from June 5–August 11. Children ages TK–8th grade will have fun learning about STEM, arts, fitness, swimming, and much more. Camp takes place Monday–Friday from 7:30 a.m.–6 p.m. with drop-off/pick-up locations across Monterey County (Salinas, Monterey, San Benito,and Watsonville). Tuition assistance is available.

Monterey Recreation is offering various summer camp programs such as Lego engineering camp, chess summer camp, woodworking camp, and much more. Programs run between June–July for ages 3–18 (depending on camp). Visit the website for more information on pricing and details.

Monterey Sports Center | monterey.org

Monterey Sports Center is offering a Summer Sports Camp that runs from June 5–August 11. They offer 20 different activities including basketball, floor hockey, soccer, flag football, swimming, a water slide, capture the flag, and tag games.

Monterey Zoo Summer Safari Camp | montereyzoo.org

Monterey Zoo Summer Safari Camp offers a weeklong adventure for children to gain an understanding of the wildlife environment. Children will have the opportunity to interact with animals, participate in art activities, and join wildlife lectures. The camp is designed for children ages 7–11 and operates from 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

Santa Catalina Summer Camp | santacatalina.org

Open to girls ages 8–14 in grades 3–9, Summer at Santa Catalina offers three 2-week sessions for both day and resident campers. The camp focuses on building and creating thinking skills, gaining a sense of responsibility, and challenging campers toward growth.

Shoreline Church Summer Day Camp | shoreline.church

Are you ready to dive into an awesome summer? At Make Waves Summer Day Camp, kids will learn that what they do today can change the world around them. When you put your trust in Jesus, you can “make waves” because of His Spirit living inside you. Through fun activities, engaging lessons, and God’s Word, we’ll help kids understand how they can share God’s love with the people around them. July 17–21 from 9–11:30 a.m. for kids in grades 3–5. The cost is $75 per child.

Youth Summer Sports Camps | monterey.org

Monterey Recreation offers several fun and diverse camps for children, pre-teens, and teens including sports, outdoor adventure, arts and crafts, camp skills, work experience, and more. Camps are a great way for kids to learn, have fun, exercise, and meet others in an organized and supervised environment. Check out the website above for more information.

PACIFIC GROVE

Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History | pgmuseum.org

Small cohorts of campers will experience a new theme every week such as paleontology scientist week, outer space week, dinosaur week, and much more, open to children entering kindergarten–5th grade. Offering art and craft camps held in June and July. Camps run Monday–Wednesday from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Children ages 7–12 are welcome to participate.

PEBBLE BEACH

The summer programs offered at Stevenson School are open to students ages 5-18, and will be an engaging array of academic, athletics, arts, and leadership opportunities. Activities may include hiking, surfing, tide-pooling, kayaking and more.

SALINAS

Behavioral Intervention Associates (BIA) | bia4autism.com

Bread Box Recreation Center | cityofsalinas.org

Non-traditional recreation center with an emphasis on community youth providing professionally designed and supervised programs to benefit all ages. It is open Monday–Friday from 3–8 p.m. and Saturday from 12–4 p.m.

Central Coast YMCA is offering Summer Day Camp from May 30–August 11. Children ages TK–8th grade will have fun learning about STEM, arts, fitness, swimming, and much more. Camp takes place Monday– Friday from 7:30 a.m.–6 p.m. with drop-off/pick-up locations across Monterey County (Salinas, Monterey, San Benito, and Watsonville). Tuition assistance is available.

DigitalNEST | digitalnest.org

DigitalNEST connects youth aged 16–24 to a skill-building community that transforms them into professionals who can create successful careers, innovative solutions, and prosperous communities. There are locations in Watsonville, Salinas, and Gilroy.

Strong, Smart, and Bolder Girls of the Central Coast Summer Camp | girlsinccc.org

Smart Choices Summer Camp is for 8th and 9th grade girls to spend two weeks at UC Santa Cruz while they learn about university life. Girls learn how to get into university by taking the right classes in high school. Girls also learn about their health and well-being and how to make positive life choices about relationships and health. They get to stay in the dorms on campus while they explore the university and meet other girls like them. This program runs from July 3–14 from 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. daily.

Hidden Hills Ranch | hiddenhillsranch.org

Hidden Hills Ranch features a variety of camps including horse camps, pony camps, vet clinic camp, sewing, SMART science, and Ropin’ Rode. Camps are open to children and adolescents ages 5+ (depending on the camp). Half days are also available. Hours range from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. depending on the program.

Salinas Police Activities League (PAL), Junior Giants | sfgiants.com

Salinas Police Activities League is offering Junior Giants (baseball/ softball). The program runs from June 13–August 15. and is available to children ages 5–18.

Valley Center Bowl | valleycenterbowl.com

Offered for children 4–17 years old, Tuesdays from 5–6:30 p.m. It costs $14.65 per week and includes three games of bowling, shoe rental, prize fund, use of bowling equipment, and coaching.

SEASIDE

Boys and Girls Club | bgcmc.org

The Boys and Girls Club of Monterey County is providing a summer camp from June 5–July 28 with activities including mindfulness, STEAM, and physical activities. Hours of operation are 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Chartwell School | chartwell.org

Chartwell School’s Summer C Program is academically focused. The goal is to guide children toward becoming healthy, curious, and confident. Students rotate between literacy skills, math skills, and a STEAM/makers curriculum.

Justin Russo Golf Academy | justinrussogolfacademy.com

Camps are open to boys and girls ages 7–14. Each day will consist of play, instruction, practice, on-course time, games, and snacks. Camps will take place between June–August. Half days and full days are available.

Community Partnership for Youth (CPY) | cpy.org

CPY’s area of focus centers on working with at-risk youth in the surrounding community. CPY aims to turn the peak hours for youth crime and victimization into the peak time for empowerment of the community’s most vulnerable population. They offer a mentor/tutor program, middle and high school leadership program, visual and performing arts academy, and a summer intersession.

Greenfield Park and Recreation

Register at the Greenfield Community Center located at Patriot Park, 1351 Oak Avenue. The camp runs from June to early August, Monday–Friday from 8 a.m.–3 p.m and is for ages 5–13. Campers must bring their own lunch as food isn’t provided.

Central Coast YMCA, Watsonville is offering Summer Day Camp from June 5–August 11. Children ages TK- 8th grade will have fun learning about STEM, arts, fitness, swimming, and much more. Camp takes place Monday–Friday from 7:30 a.m.–6 p.m. Pajaro Summer Day Camp takes place from June 5–August 11, 8 a.m.–1 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Monte Vista Christian is offering an array of summer camps for students of all ages including theater camp, equestrian camp, baseball camp, boys basketball camp, cheer camp, wrestling camp, track and field camp, kids camp, and lacrosse camp. All camps take place between June and July.

Monterey County Free Libraries offers a variety of services for children, teens, parents, and adults living in Monterey County. Activities include virtual story times and Interlibrary Loan (books delivered to your door).

Point Lobos Summer Adventure | parks.ca.gov

The goal of the Point Lobos Summer Adventure is to encourage children to enjoy the outside environment. The program runs from June 20–July 28, Monday–Friday from 8:30 a.m.–2 p.m. and includes visits to local parks and outdoor recreational experiences.
