is located on Buck Island is the largest park in Monroe at 90 ACRES and has approximately 4,500 lineal feet of shoreline along the Skykomish River. There are many different types of woods used to smoke meats for barbeque. Hard woods such as hickory, mesquite, pecan, and certain types of oak impart a strong smoke flavor. Woods like maple, alder, and fruit woods impart a milder, sweeter taste. The

Guests interested in multiday adventures can reserve a spot at Trout Creek, a lush private campground owned and operate by the Outdoor Adventure Center. Located roughly five miles northeast of the center, Trout Creek is a sparkling jewel of a campground, perfectly framed by its namesake creek and the north fork of the Skykomish River. Whether you’re seeking a thrilling adrenaline rush or a gentle, lazy float, the Outdoor Adventure Center can accommodate your needs safely. And as guests choose their own adventure, they do so while relishing in the knowledge that they’ll be guided by experts and outfitted in the highest quality gear. And when it comes to adventure, Index is the perfect starting point. The Outdoor Adventure Center is the doorway to a world-class stretch of river featuring a Class IV/ Class V rapid known as “Boulder Drop,” a section of rapid referred to by some as the “rollercoaster of the Skykomish.” This stretch of river is not for the faint of heart, and there is no one better to take explorers through this dynamic, rocky region than the expert guides at the Outdoor Adventure Center. For the Corsons, adventuring is about far more than just excitement, adrenaline, and providing

an escape from the ordinary. It’s about helping people overcome fears and tackle challenges, while making the outdoors more accessible, particularly to youth. One of the very first boats they purchased is called “Narnia,” representing the new worlds that can be revealed to youth through outdoor exploration. “We really want to inspire people to live their best lives,” said Bill. “Being outside is good for your spirit and your physical health, and the benefits to youth are undeniable.” Both renowned experts with decades of experience on the water, Bill and Blair did their guide training together in 1998, through a company called Orion Expeditions. “Blair and I were the first father-and-son team to ever go through Orion,” Bill said. They guided for Orion for a few years before purchasing the Outdoor Adventure Center, a sea-kayaking company based in the San Juan Islands. Corson began operating the business out of Redmond, building kayaks and providing guided sea-kayaking expeditions, and offering programs for youth including wilderness exploration, rock-climbing, sea-kayaking and biking. River-rafting and river kayaking
were passions they wanted to further embrace, so they began to explore their options and consider ways to build those activities permanently into their program. That exploration landed them in picturesque Index. Known as a “small town with big views,” Index is located one mile north of U.S. 2, and boasts a population of roughly 205. It’s one of the tiniest towns in western Washington and one of the most charming, with a distinct personality that most find captivating. The Outdoor Adventure Center’s relocation to Index was an adventure all on its own. The Corsons purchased the property in 2006, working day and night to renovate the existing 1900s-era structure, formerly known as the Index Tavern. The historic building had become dilapidated over the years, and severe flooding the year they bought it worsened its condition considerably. They had their work cut out for them.
“My entire family embarked on this adventure together,” Bill said. “We took it from what it was and built it to what it is today. All my kids worked on it – we only hired outside contractors when we absolutely had to. We just put our heads down and got it done.”
The former tavern, now home to the Outdoor Adventure Center, doubles as the River House Café. In addition to providing lasting memories through outdoor exploration, it’s a community gathering place, an extraordinary wedding venue and a great place to hold meetings, parties and corporate retreats. he Skykomish River is an adventurer’s paradise, vastly treasured by those who live near it, fish in it and recreate on it. The state-designated scenic waterway is well-known for its recreational opportunities, wildlife habitat, fishing and sheer loveliness. The north and south forks of the Skykomish are enveloped by wilderness areas, parks, hiking trails and private property, offering some of the most breathtaking whitewater rapids, interspersed with spectacular waterfalls, serene stretches and glassy pools. We’ve collected some of the most popular Skykomish River access sites for your exploration and enjoyment. It is important to always remember that the Skykomish River is a one-of-a-kind waterway! Always consult with experts prior to braving its flows and always employ “Leave no Trace” principles at its access sites. If you pack it in, remember to pack it out!
BEN HOWARD Ben Howard Road Monroe
Roughly two miles east of S.R. 203 or Ben Howard Road, this river access site is located on the north side of Ben Howard Road. It features a concrete boat launch managed by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife and requires a Discover Pass. This site is a hot spot for salmon, steelhead and trout fishing, and can be used as a put-in or take-out location for paddlers, floaters and drift boaters. The Ben Howard boat launch is located roughly eight miles downstream from Sultan’s Sportsman Park. LEWIS STREET WATER ACCESS Lewis Street Boat Launch, S.R. 203, Monroe
Located directly west of the Lewis Street Bridge, Lewis Street Park is the oldest park in the Monroe Parks System. Guests seeking river access will find a large parking lot located to the south, which features a boat launch operated by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. The Lewis Street access site offers salmon, steelhead and trout fishing, and is a popular take-out site for paddlers and boaters adventuring down the river from Big Eddy or Sportsman Park in Sultan. THE SKYKOMISH BALLPARK West of U.S. 2 mile 49.8, Skykomish The Skykomish Ballpark is a hidden gem tucked discreetly off of U.S. 2 east of the town of Skykomish and south of Beckler Road. The Skykomish Ballpark opens for the summer season in May, offering a ball field, campground, picnic tables, fire-rings, covered outdoor kitchen and river access. In the late summer months when temperatures are high and river levels are low, this is a great opportunity for casual river-users to explore the roughly four-mile stretch of river that extends from the ballpark to the Money Creek Campground downstream. Note: Floaters, paddlers and boaters should be aware of Eagle Falls, a Class 5+ rapid located approximately five miles downstream from Money Creek in the Baring area. n For more information about the SKYKOMISH BALLPARK, please visit: skykomishwa.gov/parks.

MONEY CREEK CAMPGROUND
U.S. 2 west of the highway tunnel at mile 46 Skykomish Managed by the United States Forest Service (USFS), the Money Creek Campground is open from May through September, offering camping (both tent and RV), bathrooms, picnic tables, drinking water and river access. Out of the 24 available campsites, four are ADAcompliant. The Money Creek Campground is serenely positioned on the banks of the south fork of the Skykomish River, which begins east of the town of Skykomish. The campground is great for hiking, exploring and enjoying the beauty of the Mt. BakerSnoqualmie National Forest. Note: Floaters, paddlers and boaters should be aware of Eagle Falls, a Class 5 rapid located approximately five miles downstream from Money Creek in the Baring area. Eagle Falls is a Class 5+ rapid that drops roughly 25-feet in a furious flurry of whitewater. BIG EDDY
U.S. 2 mile 30.4, Gold Bar You’ll find Big Eddy on the south side of U.S. 2 just as you begin to leave the city of Gold Bar in your rearview mirror. Once you pass over the Skykomish River Bridge, its entrance will be to your right. Camping is not permitted at Big Eddy, but it’s a great place to while away an afternoon when the weather is nice, as summertime at Big Eddy is a stunning display of the river’s deepest and most vibrant blue-green hues. As you start to explore the state-managed park, you may encounter guided kayakers exhilarated by a trip down the rapids located just upstream. Big Eddy is known as a take-out point for whitewater enthusiasts, and as a put-in for floaters and drift boaters. Big Eddy is managed by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. A Discover Pass is required at Big Eddy. Don’t have a Discover Pass? SPORTSMAN PARK
U.S. 2 and Albion Street, Sultan Sportsman Park is nestled in at the confluence of the Sultan and Skykomish rivers, directly west of the Sultan River Bridge. The site features an expansive parking lot, boat launch, covered picnic area, and portable restroom. When the summer sun is hot and the river levels are low, Sportsman Park is a popular spot for families looking to beat the heat by splashing around in the Sultan River. The site is incredibly popular among local anglers, who position themselves at the opening of the confluence to fish for steelhead and trout. Paddlers and boaters can put-in at Sportsman Park for a river excursion, pulling out roughly eight miles downstream at the Ben Howard boat launch or continuing another three miles to the Lewis Street boat launch in Monroe. Sportsman Park can be used as a take-out site for adventurers who put-in at Big Eddy. Paddlers braving this section of the Skykomish should be cautious of “strainers” which are downed trees that have become caught in the river’s depths. Strainers are deceptively powerful and should always be avoided. Always check the American Whitewater website or ask an expert to find out if there have been reports of recent strainers in this stretch. Sportsman Park is Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife land, managed by the City of Sultan. eant to offer a striking balance between rustic charm and elegant sophistication, the glamping tents at Falling Water Gardens provide an unparalleled lodging experience that can accommodate a kaleidoscope of different tastes. marginal plants, koi fish ponds, and a variety of farm animals. Falling Water hosts events and is an emerging wedding venue, which is how the glamping tents sprang into existence. They needed space for the bride and groom to get ready so they built the glamping tents to accommodate that need. Their goal was to create enchantment, which is exactly what they’ve done. “Glamping,” a linguistic blend of the words “glamorous” and “camping,” offers all the amenities of a luxury hotel, including comfortable beds, plush furniture and subtle lighting. The tents are available from June through September and are booked through Airbnb. The Huntsman Tent sleeps two and is decorated in a safari theme, complete with leather furniture, an antler chandelier, carved masks and art from around the world. The Satterley Tent, which
“Glamp Monroe” is just one facet of Falling Water Gardens, a lush, 10-acre aquatic nursery located just south of Monroe on S.R. 203. The grounds at Falling Water showcase the commanding pastoral views found prevalently throughout the Tualco Valley, a bucolic area between Monroe and Duvall that marks where the Snoqualmie and Skykomish river valleys meet. It’s a vibrant region boasting a host of agricultural uses, from organic vegetables to dairy farms and everything in between. Falling Water Gardens is owned and operated by Rick Perry and Ken Hunt, who purchased the retired strawberry farm in 2008 as home base for their award-winning aquatic landscape design company. Since then, the two have crafted a serene sanctuary, accented by gently flowing water features, sculpted gardens, yard art,

sleeps four, is set to a “Lawrence of Arabia” theme, embracing lavish Victorian details including a crystal chandelier, framed art, and rich, distinguished furniture. Each tent is equipped with LED candles, an ice bucket, wine glasses, water, coffee maker, microwave, small refrigerator, dishes, silverware, space heaters and more. The shared space between the two glamping tents offers citronella torches, a gas fire pit and a barbecue with utensils. “It’s all lit at night,” Rick said. “We have well over 250 lights in the garden, so the entire place is lit up. It’s very magical.” Glamp Monroe offers guests a compelling departure from the generic atmosphere found in typical lodging accommodations, as guests are invited to explore the working farm at their leisure. In addition to inspirational gardens, play areas, lawn games and personable koi fish, there are chickens, peacocks, a herd of alpacas and a small drove of goats, who earn their keep by eating the weeds down. The alpacas occasionally sport crafty haircuts, so guests may find them resembling zebras, giraffes or poodles. The goats are friendly, outgoing and enjoy greeting visitors, and will offer their heads for scratches and petting. An Anatolian shepherd named Kopek serves as the chief security officer, a self-appointed role he’s held for over two years. Kopek, which means “dog” in Turkish, is yet another aspect of Falling Water that enhances its allure,

adding an intriguing layer onto its overall story. Initially, Kopek belonged to a neighbor, who adopted the dog to help guard a herd of steer. But Kopek felt better suited to care for Falling Water’s small herd of goats, and repeatedly returned there to do his job. Eventually, his owner gave up, and Rick and Ken adopted the shy, gentle giant, who watches over his goats with a quiet diligence that is nearly palpable.
And Kopek isn’t the only fourlegged creature to choose Falling Water as his home. Recently, a fluffy white bunny rabbit took up residence, and made fast friends with the rest of the crew. “The dog adopted us and then a bunny adopted us,” Rick said. “One day we looked out and there was a big white bunny out there and the big white bunny has never left. He hops around with the roosters now, and we had to buy bunny food to feed him.” Falling Water invites guests to stop by and explore the grounds or attend one of its signature events. At the upcoming Mother’s Day weekend event, which takes place Saturday May 11 and Sunday May 12, families can meander through the gardens and shop for unique yard art, while enjoying decadent refreshments, raffles, a scavenger hunt, gifts and more. THE HEYBROOK LOOKOUT TOWER Index
You’ll fall asleep under the stars and wake up to some of the most spectacular views in all of the Sky Valley, but first you have to get there. Operated by the United States Forest Service (USFS), the Heybrook Lookout Tower is perched atop its namesake, Heybrook Ridge, accessible by way of a twisting trail that rises 1,700 feet through the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Once at the top, guests are rewarded with commanding views of Mount Index, Bridal Veil Falls, Mount Baring and Mount Persis. The lofty 14-foot by 14-foot cabin rises 67-feet above the top of the ridge, offering a twin-sized bed and mattress, a table, chairs, propane stove, pots, pans, silverware, coffee pot and battery-operated lanterns. Lodging at the tower is camping at its most rustic; there is no running water or bathroom facilities, although there is a vault-style toilet located a few hundred feet down the ridge. or Amarillo Restaurant and Tavern owners Connie and Brian Adams, the art of crafting a destination eatery has not been unlike the meticulous melding of ingredients it takes to concoct one of Amarillo’s signature blends of barbecue sauce. It takes time, patience, and a whole lot of heart. And a little star power sure hasn’t hurt. The Amarillo is a labor of love for Connie and Brian, who plucked the nationally-known Texasstyle barbecue joint out of Omaha, Nebraska, and situated it in Monroe’s historic downtown core. The family-friendly restaurant offers an array of authentic barbecue delicacies including corned beef, ribs, brisket, melt-in-your-mouth pulled pork, delectable smoked chicken, and much more. The two have escalated food preparation to an artistic level, offering homemade dishes and custom beverages, set against a dynamic backdrop of live entertainment meant to dazzle, excite and inspire. “Brian and I always dreamed that our Amarillo would be a family-friendly place where people could enjoy great food and great music,” Connie said. “We are thrilled that we get to realize our dream in Monroe. The community has embraced us every step of the way and we’re very grateful.” Initially founded by Texas native Gordon Campbell, the original Amarillo Restaurant in Nebraska boasted an array of celebrity clientele, including Sean Penn, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw and many others. When Connie and Brian purchased the iconic eatery in 2010, they bought the soul of the Amarillo, including its name, website and extensive collection of custom, trademark recipes. But opening the doors and welcoming customers wasn’t something that happened overnight. After buying the restaurant, the Nebraska residents took a few years to master the art of true Texasstyle barbecue, a hearty genre known for its dryrubbed meats cooked slowly over hickory wood, complimented by sweet, tomato-based barbecue sauce served on the side.

“We had fun,” Connie said. “We parked our smoker in the driveway and had parties, letting our neighbors sample the results.” After taking the time to hone their craft, it was all about finding the perfect location. The couple packed up and headed for Washington state, excited to make it their home and realize their dream of opening the Amarillo. They settled in Snohomish County and the hunt for a location began in earnest. The search was exhaustive, and nothing was quite right. Finally, one afternoon, Brian decided to explore Monroe’s Main Street to get a better feel for the neighborhood. He peered through the windows of what was formerly the Chopping Block Tavern and was instantly intrigued. Once he and Connie got inside, they knew it was perfect. It had a timeless, classic, saloon-type feel, with roughly 3,000 square feet of space available for cooking, dining, drinking, performing and dancing. Importantly, there was room for their smokers, each of which holds 1,000 pounds of meat. The smokers are so large they had to be hoisted in on a crane and settled carefully onto a concrete pad.

IN SEPTEMBER 2018, THEY OPENED THEIR DOORS The smokehouse was then constructed around the precious purveyors of the Amarillo’s smoky goodness. The historic antique barback—which dates back to 1903—was the clincher. “That sold me,” Brian said. “We knew it was going to be a total remodel, but the bones were there.” What followed was a severalmonths-long process that included extensive demolition and renovation. The couple did much of the work themselves, adding their heart and soul to the walls, floors, ceilings and doors. Other fine-tuning occurred along the way, including menu-planning, logo design and the successful search for an executive chef. From day one, the couple’s goal has been to elevate the traditional and exceed expectations by bringing barbecue and entertainment to the next level. As a result, the Amarillo’s menu is its showcase. Connie and Brian have gone to great lengths to preserve the integrity of the original recipes, even going so far as to import the hickory wood, which is not native to the Pacific Northwest. With the help of Executive Chef Colin Evans, they strive to offer custom dishes with a unique Amarillo flair,
celebrating the differences between the normal way and the Amarillo way. Guests will discover clever nuances throughout the menu that are meant to encourage exploration of new culinary ideas. Amarillo’s deep-fried pickles, as an example, are made from breadand-butter pickles rather than dill, and paired with a tantalizing custom-made dipping sauce. The macaroni and cheese is freshlymade with every order, featuring rotinistyle pasta drenched in a bold and creamy blend of cheeses. Their sausage is made from freshlyground brisket and pork that’s been painstakingly seasoned and stuffed into casings by hand. Sauces, seasonings, and rubs are all made from scratch, and smoked delicacies are 100 percent wood-smoked in Amarillo’s on-site smokers. Their efforts to stand out from other barbecue restaurants have resulted in a broadened ability to accommodate a variety of dietary needs, with both vegetarian and gluten free selections. In addition to black bean burgers and portobello mushroom burgers, individuals will enjoy the house-brined salmon, which is smoked to perfection and served atop a classic Caesar salad.

NIGHTLIFE Uniquely, they feature homemade sugar-free barbecue sauce, made with the same intricate care as their traditional barbecue sauce. The endeavor proved a challenge. As Brian tailored the recipe and worked to maintain the distinct flavor profile found in his other sauces, he reached for the Worcestershire sauce only to realize it had sugar in it too. He backed up a step and created a sugar-free Worcestershire sauce, added gluten- and MSG-free soy sauce to the mix, and sealed the deal with the best-tasting sugar substitute he could find. Like the sugar-free barbecue sauce, menu items are finessed through hours of experimentation and taste-testing. The process has resulted in fun and unusual tidbits meant to delight guests’ taste buds and keep them coming back for more. changing variety of flavors, including white chocolate peppermint, pumpkin spice and pineapple. It’s been a huge hit, with guests returning specifically to try the latest version. Their hard work has resulted in a skillful blend of remarkable food, compelling entertainment and great drinks, with a charismatic ambiance that greets, welcomes and makes guests want to stay. Sultan Shindig LOGGING LEGACY:
Some love the carnival the most, with its exhilarating rides and classic amusement park games. Others love the live entertainment, which features local performers during the day, and then shakes, rattles and rolls the night away with classic rock, rhythm and blues, and dance music. Some have a particular heart for the fireworks display, others the parade, some the car show, and others love the logging competitions. One thing on which everyone can agree is this: The Sultan Summer Shindig Festival is the quintessential small-town extravaganza, and everyone should experience it at least once. Held annually during the second weekend in July, Shindig is a long-standing community tradition looking forward to celebrating its 36th showstopping year. The festival is built on Sultan’s rich logging history, merging tradition, honor, heart and hope, along with vibrant splashes of old-fashioned family fun. It’s coordinated by Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce Director Debbie Copple, who has assembled a veritable army of community advocates who tend to its various aspects. And they don’t do it for a paycheck. Since its humble beginnings, Shindig has been organized by volunteers and supported by local businesses, an unaltered tradition that enhances community investment in the three-day festival. “Shindig wouldn’t be possible without the hardworking volunteers who come together every year to make it happen,” Debbie said. “We are blessed with extraordinary levels of community support and are so grateful for everyone’s participation.” Whether your first time at Shindig or your 25th, the weekend festival ignites unmistakable feelings of nostalgia, compelling guests to pocket their smart phones and revel in the event’s timelessness. IT IS DIFFICULT TO PINPOINT WHAT PEOPLE LOVE THE MOST ABOUT THE SULTAN SUMMER SHINDIG FESTIVAL One of the much-loved highlights is the spar pole climbing, in which two competitors face off in a furious flurry of wood chips as each races to the top of an 80-foot spar pole. Climbers start with one foot on the ground and the other on the pole, rocketing their way towards the sky in a heart-pounding display of strength, endurance and agility. To volunteer entertainment coordinator and newly-appointed parade director Elizabeth Emmons, Shindig is more than just a weekend festival. It’s Americana in its purest form, embracing the “big heart, little city” spirit that Sultan is known for. While she loves the entire weekend and all of its various elements, to her, Saturday night holds an indelible magic that returns year after year. As the day fades away and the final band takes the stage, the warm evening air is awash in reassuring swells of music that twirl discreetly up towards the stars. As the final song reverberates throughout the dusky twilight landscape, a brilliant fireworks display commands your attention, enveloping the evening in a vivid display of color and light. The Sultan and Skykomish rivers capture the display and reflect it back for guests to further enjoy, as the band plays its closing notes. The carnival rides take their final spin and fold quietly away for the night, like ancient metallic beasts fueled by sun and laughter. It’s the very essence of community, Elizabeth said. “I get goosebumps when I think about it. I just feel so grateful to be here and to be a part of making this happen,” she said. “I absolutely fall head over heels in love with my community every year during the second weekend in July.” CM

KLA HA YA DAYS
Snohomish July 16 – July 21 The Kla Ha Ya Days festival runs each summer to bring the community of Snohomish together. It’s been a tradition for over 100 years. Kla Ha Ya means “Welcome” and that’s just what Snohomish does. A family-friendly event that includes a carnival, parade, frogtastic kids fair, music stage and more. Duvall • Saturday, June 1 Duvall Days is a free, one-day festival that honors and celebrates Duvall’s “Small Town / Real Life” community theme. Often touted as Duvall’s “Best Day of the Year,” Duvall Days includes a vast assortment of family-friendly activities, including vendor booths, a climbing wall, bouncy houses, a petting zoo, laser tag, live music, ziplines, trampolines, pony rides and more! The festivities kick off at 9 a.m. on Main Street and culminates in a 10 p.m. fireworks show over Duvall’s McCormick Park. NAUTIQUE WWA WAKEBOARD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS Monroe • July 24 – July 27
It’s BACK! This exciting wakeboard competition is an international showcase, featuring Monroe as one of just five event stops. According to the Nautique website, the 2019 season promises one of the most impressive line-ups to date, offering multiple days of high-speed, action-packed competition. Held in the tiny postage-stamp sized town of Index, the Index Arts Festival relishes the artistic abilities of Sky Valley residents, welcoming writers, painters, sculptors, photographers, artisans and poets, who come to showcase their work. Tucked off of U.S. 2 east of Gold Bar, the event features poetry and spoken word presentations, art demonstrations, live music and dancing in the park. GOLD DUST DAYS Gold Bar July 26 – July 28
Gold Dust Days is a family-friendly community celebration that honors Gold Bar’s mining heritage while recognizing and celebrating the history of the Sky Valley. Gold Dust Days brings low-tech, old-fashioned fun, allowing kids to bask in the simplicity of playfulness, offering gunnysack races against local firefighters, lasso lessons, horseback rides, bicycle decorating, face-painting, a bouncy house and more. For adults, there are local artists and vendors, live music, food, a Civil War encampment, car shows and hot rod competitions. n Gold Dust Days takes place in the city of Gold Bar. MOVIES UNDER THE MOON
Monroe August 2, August 9, August 16 and August 23 Movies under the Moon takes place in Monroe’s Lake Tye Park, a 64-acre destination park featuring a 42-acre lake, picnic tables, concession stand, restrooms, playground, covered eating area and much more. Watch movies as the sun says its final farewell to the day in Lake Tye’s comfortable grassy area, which welcome blankets and lawn chairs – or whatever makes you comfortable. This year’s movie lineup includes: Incredibles 2 (August 2), Ralph Breaks the Internet (August 9), Mary Poppins Returns (August 16) and Black Panther (August 23). EVERGREEN STATE FAIR Monroe • August 22 – September 2
Everybody loves the Evergreen State Fair! The twelve-day extravaganza never disappoints, with its petting zoo, high-energy carnival, equestrian shows, live music performed by nationally-known artists, decadent fair food, live racing action at Evergreen Speedway, fireworks, a rodeo, farm animals, 4-H, and much more. Organized by Snohomish County, the Evergreen State Fair invites guests to be a part of the action, featuring various contests including pie-eating, water balloon tossing and others. FAMILY FUN SULTAN SWOOSH 3-ON-3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT Sultan Saturday, August 17
The games kick off at 9 a.m. at this all-ages basketball tournament in Sultan’s River Park, located at the corner of First and Main streets. This actionpacked event turns downtown Sultan into a live sports arena, as three-person teams battle it out on multiple courts. Last year’s tournament welcomed a total of 44 teams in 10 different age divisions, and this year’s event promises to be even bigger!
