MONROE COUNTY YMCA

Summer Camp Guide

INFORMATION

Dear Campers and Parents, Thank you for allowing your child to share their summer with the Monroe County YMCA! Summer Camp is so much more than fun in the sun. At the Y, we provide an exciting and safe community for young people to explore the outdoors, build self-esteem, develop interpersonal skills, make lasting friendships, and more. Our counselors are wonderful role models, selected based on their experience, attitude, interpersonal skills, and enthusiasm. They genuinely care about the individual development of each camper, serving as a guide to live and work together as a community throughout the summer. All staff are CPR and First Aid certified, and are additionally trained in risk management, child abuse prevention, behavior management, character development, and team building. We are excited to see so many returning faces, and we are ready to welcome and embrace the newcomers to Summer Camp at the Monroe County YMCA. Please don’t hesitate to contact any of our directors and/or coordinators directly through email or by phone with any questions you have regarding camp. We look forward to working together and embarking on your summer adventure! Sincerely, Your Monroe County YMCA Summer Camp Team

Throughout all of our Sports Camps, the JV group will focus on the fundamentals of each sport and play games that involve similar skills. Our goal is to help develop your young sports star physically and socially so they learn what it means to be a part of a team in a positive, supportive environment. During the first few days of each camp, we will review basic skills and how to play the sport. The following days will consist of lots of game time and play. SESSION DATES May 26-29*

This camp includes Gaga Ball, Disc Golf, Spikeball, Ping Pong, Pickleball, Mini Golf, Floor Hockey, Kickball, and more! Campers will choose from a variety of games and rotate from game-to-game playing their favorites.

NERF SPORTS

We ask that campers leave their own equipment at home to create a fair and safe playing field for all. Games like capture the flag, fort building, and versions of tag will all be on the weekly agenda.
