The MPC is a parent run committee. Our main aim is to build a community at Monkton by creating opportunities for families to get together, support one another and make friends. The MPC also creates fun and exciting events at the school for the children to enjoy outside of their normal timetabled events, whilst bringing the community together.

to the Summer Term Monkton Community events programme
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Summer term What’s On Guide where you will find a whole host of activities and events for our Monkton Community to look forward to.
The glorious surroundings of our Monkton Valley will set the backdrop for our first ‘Wild Shakespeare’ day, with a special outdoor performance of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ from our Senior School students. The Longmead Music Festival will once again resound through the School as our Expressive Arts faculty host one of the highlights of the summer calendar.
As well as Prize Giving celebrations and leavers’ ceremonies for Nursery to Year 13, there will be a number of creative end of year exhibitions taking place across both sites, as well as the Bath Voices Festival ‘Party in the City’ held at Bath Abbey.
Alongside the events for our current pupils, there are a number of gatherings for our OM community too. It’s always a pleasure welcoming our Alumni back to the School and this year will see the return of the President’s Picnic, as well as sporting events including the Monkton Cavaliers vs current student cricketers and Magpie vs Swift netball match. We look forward to hosting a reunion for former pupils of Clarendon School too.
With brighter mornings inviting our rowers back to early sessions on the river, we will be running training camps at our fully equipped Boathouse in Saltford alongside
preparing for key races at Wallingford and the National Schools Regatta. There will be extra coaching for tennis and cricket in the run up to the summer season too. Both sites see the return of sports day including a ‘Try-athlon’ for the younger years.
From historical battlefields to sailing expeditions, there are a variety of academic and co-curricular field trips for pupils to look forward to. After months of preparation, our Senior School students will be heading off on their CCF and DofE expeditions to Dartmoor, Snowdonia and the Cotswolds. Meanwhile, Year 6 pupils will be heading to the Wye Valley as Year 4 embark on a two day adventure to Mill on the Brue Activity Centre in Bruton. Our Prep School will enjoy another Wild Monkton Day full of outdoor activities too.
With house events including BBQ’s and formal dinners, there are also a whole host of opportunities to come together and celebrate achievements from this academic year. As always, we wish our Year 11 and 13 pupils the very best with their GCSE and A Level exams and I look forward to meeting many of you at these upcoming events.
