WELCOME
Welcome to the Michaelmas Term Monkton Community events programme 2025
It is a pleasure to welcome you to this term’s What’s On Guide. For those new to Monkton, I hope you find it helpful, and for those familiar with its purpose, may it continue to build excitement for the events ahead.
The term begins with opportunities for new and returning pupils to settle into school life, including the much-anticipated Senior House Music Competition, where every pupil performs before an audience of over 1,000 people. Events like these help pupils collaborate, build trust, and take risks together - all while having a fantastic time.
House Music is just the start of a busy Expressive Arts calendar. We look forward to the innovative Senior concert ‘Past Present & Future’, Prep School productions, and, as December arrives, Christmas concerts and the ever-delightful Nativity plays.
Sport also promises plenty to celebrate, with a calendar of hockey and rugby fixtures alongside many other much-loved activities. Following last year’s strong performances, Prep and Senior runners will again compete at county level and beyond, while our rowers return to the water in preparation for this season’s races.
Co-curricular highlights include the Year 5 CYE Outdoor Education Residential, Year 12’s Leadership Award, and outdoor learning during Wild Monkton at the Prep and Field Day at the Senior.
Parents can enjoy committee events, coffee mornings, and opportunities to meet staff, while OMs return to the valley for reunions.
We end the term together at Bath Abbey, raising our voices in celebration before the Christmas holidays.
I look forward to seeing many of you at these events, both familiar and new faces, and to a term filled with energy, connection, and joy.
