Step back in time with Ar Lo Pickled Fruit Shop, where tradition and flavour meet. Ar Lo, the mastermind behind this iconic store, inherited his knowledge of fruit properties and pickling techniques from his father, a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, and his aunt, a pickled fruit expert from Chaozhou. In the 1960s, when pickled fruits were scarce in Hong Kong, Ar Lo began offering these delicacies, and they quickly became a favourite treat at local cinemas. Today, his factory in the New Territories continues to process and pickle fruits with the same dedication Ar Lo Pickled Fruit Shop remains a top destination for those seeking the authentic taste of "Hong Kong pickled fruit."

The Corner Shop by Mondrian Hong Kong, is a dynamic street-level space located just opposite to our hotel in the lively neighborhood of Tsim Sha Tsui.
True to its name and design, The Corner Shop celebrates the possibilities of artistic pop-up experiences, presenting itself as the perfect backdrop for a cultural dialogue, serving as a platform for guerrilla art, carefully curated coolness, cultural events, and inspiring installations.
This September, we are proud to partner with Redress, a charity dedicated to reducing textile waste through upcycling, for a special showcase of creative sustainability.
Our upcoming installation is SHELL SCAPES: REFORMING WASTE, a performance art piece by Redress designer-in-residence Tiffany Pattinson. Inspired by the ecological importance of oysters, Tiffany’s work celebrates their role in cleaning oceans, storing carbon, and supporting marine life. Taking place from 14 - 29 September, visit The Corner Shop to witness her live creation of upcycled art pieces. These works will be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting Redress’ sustainability initiatives.

Mondrian is part of Ennismore, a global collective of entrepreneurial and founder-built brands with creativity and purpose at their heart.
