CLONES LIBRARY

CLONES LIBRARY Located on 98 Avenue in Clones Town, Clones Library provides a warm welcome to all members of the community.

Joining the library is Free and there are no fines if you dont get to drop back your borrowed items on time.

At the library you can borrow books, DVD's, magazines, read the daily newspaper, use a computer, print documents or use the Free WiFi. There are many Free classes and workshops running throughout the year. You can also access a large range of services from your home such as e-books, e-audio books and magazines.

WHAT IS THE FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE? If you are aged 60+, the Friendship Circle offers you a chance to meet up and try some new hobbies in a comfortable environment.

Meet with friends or make some new ones at a range of talks, workshops and classes.

Enjoy a cuppa and a chat at each session and help us develop a range of services you want to see.

What can the library offer me?

8th of November at 3pm Did you know you can read the daily newspaper in Clones Library or borrow a magazine to bring home and read over a cuppa tea. You can learn a new musical instrument or watch an opera on a wet afternoon in Newbliss. There's more to us than books!

Cross Border Healthcare Directive 30th November at 2pm Do you have a European Health Insurance Card?> Have you heard about the Treatment abroad scheme and the Cross Border Directive? Learn how you can access these programmes with Catherine Donohoe.

TALKS Citizens Information - How they can help you.

6th December 2.30pm Citizens Information provide comprehensive information on public services and on the entitlements of citizens in Ireland. You might be concerned about the cost of living crisis, the rise in fuel costs and how it will affect you. This talk will offer a chance to find out what grants might be available for you.

Tidy Towns - Date to be confirmed.

Find out about what Tidy Towns do in your community from looking after our pollinators to Litter Picking groups. Learn how you can get involved and pick up some lovely spring bulbs and gardening tools to make a start in your garden or planters.

Monaghan Age Friendly Network 16th December at 11am Age Friendly Ireland’s vision is to make Ireland a great country in which to grow old. Find out how they are doing this with our Monaghan Age Friendly Officer Barry Eaton and enjoy some lovely Christmas treats with tea.

Digital/Smart Device Workshops 9th/16th/23rd and 30th November 11am - 12.30pm Do you feel a bit overwhelmed by zoom meetings, banking apps, shopping and paying bills online? Well then sign up for this 4 week programme which will help you to learn how to get the most from your smartphone or tablet.

WORKSHOPS Make your Christmas Decorations/Gifts 2nd December 10.30 - 12.30pm Make your own Christmas Decorations to hang on your tree or gift to family and friends.
