Missouri Crop Progress and Condition November 17, 2014

Corn and soybean harvest advanced slightly last week. Temperatures well below average were experienced across the state, with the temperature averaging 30.9 degrees, which is 13.3 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.04 inches statewide. There were 5.7 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending November 16. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1 percent very short, 15 percent short, 81 percent adequate, and 3 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent very short, 18 percent short, 76 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus. Corn harvest was 91 percent complete. Soybean harvest was 89 percent complete. Winter wheat planted progressed to 88 percent. Winter wheat emerged progressed to 59 percent. Cotton harvest was 84 percent complete. Fall tillage progressed to 43 percent. Pasture condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 11 percent poor, 38 percent fair, 44 percent good, and 6 percent excellent.
