Missouri Crop Progress and Condition Missouri received widespread precipitation throughout the week averaging 1.17 inches statewide, 0.20 inches above normal. Temperatures averaged 50.3 degrees, 3.4 degrees below normal. There were 4.2 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending November 1. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 10 percent very short, 32 percent short, 54 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 13 percent very short, 33 percent short, 51 percent adequate, and 3 percent surplus. Corn harvest was 97 percent complete, 20 percentage points ahead of last year and 7 percentage points ahead of the 5-year average. Soybean harvest was 80 percent complete, compared to 61 percent last year and 74 percent for the 5year average. Cotton harvest was 72 percent complete, 14 percentage points ahead of last year but the same as the 5-year average. Sorghum harvest was 81 percent complete. Winter wheat planted reached 79 percent. Winter wheat emerged was 50 percent complete, compared to 32 percent last year and 47 percent for the 5-year average.
