Missouri Crop Progress and Condition Missouri received light precipitation across most of the state, however farmers still made good progress harvesting row crops. Temperatures averaged 61.7 degrees, 7.4 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 0.30 inches statewide, 0.46 inches below normal. There were 6.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending October 25. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 28 percent very short, 38 percent short, 30 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 17 percent very short, 35 percent short, 45 percent adequate, and 3 percent surplus. Corn harvest was 94 percent complete, 27 percentage points ahead of last year and 10 percentage points ahead of the 5-year average. Soybeans dropping leaves progressed to 94 percent, 1 percentage point ahead of last year but 2 percentage points behind the 5-year average. Soybean harvest was 67 percent complete, compared to 43 percent last year and 60 percent for the 5-year average. Cotton harvest was 60 complete, 1 percentage point behind the 5-year average.
