Missouri Crop Progress and Condition Widespread precipitation continued to limit fieldwork across most of the state this week, with Missouri averaging 1.43 inches of rain statewide. Temperatures averaged 77.0 degrees, 4.9 degrees above normal. There were 3.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending June 14. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1 percent short, 44 percent adequate, and 55 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent short, 67 percent adequate, and 31 percent surplus. Corn planting reached 93 percent complete, compared to 100 percent last year and 99 percent for the 5-year average. Corn emerged reached 89 percent, 7 percentage points behind the 5-year average. Soybean planting progressed to 42 percent complete, compared to 85 percent for the previous year and 79 percent for the 5-year average. Soybeans emerged reached 28 percent, 37 percentage points behind the 5year average. Winter wheat harvest was 4 percent complete, 18 percent behind the 5-year average. Winter wheat condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 8 percent poor, 50 percent fair, 38 percent good, and 3 percent excellent. Rice planting reached 93 percent complete. Rice emerged reached 92 percent. Pasture condition was rated 2 percent poor, 26 percent fair, 57 percent good, and 15 percent excellent. Spring tillage is 89 percent complete compared to 100 percent for last year.
