Spring officially arrives this week. Although feeding will still take place for several weeks, producers are thinking about the tints of green that are starting to appear. There continues to be some light movement of hay as the feeding days wind down. Warmer days will have cattle chasing grass soon and feeding requirements will begin to decrease allowing farmers to focus on fertilizing and spring planting season. The supply of hay is mostly moderate and demand is light to moderate. Prices are steady. The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers and sellers.
