MISSOURI CROP PROGRESS REPORT 06/17/19 Temperatures last week averaged 66.4 degrees, 6.3 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.93 inches statewide, 0.05 inches above normal. There was 4.9 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending June 16, 2019. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1 percent short, 73 percent adequate, and 26 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 69 percent adequate, and 31 percent surplus. Corn planted progressed to 89 percent this week, 11 percentage points behind last year, while corn emerged progressed to 80 percent. Corn condition was rated at 5 percent very poor, 23 percent poor, 44 percent fair, 26 percent good, and 2 percent excellent. Soybeans planted progressed to 57 percent, 36 percentage points behind last year, while soybeans emerged progressed to 36 percent. Cotton planted progressed to 85 percent, 15 percentage points behind last year, while cotton squaring progressed to 8 percent. Cotton condition was rated at 8 percent very poor, 8 percent poor, 56 percent fair, 27 percent good, and 1 percent excellent. Rice planted progressed to 92 percent, 7 percentage points behind the 5-year average, while rice emerged progressed to 85 percent. Rice condition was rated at 4 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 42 percent fair, 30 percent good, and 17 percent excellent. Winter wheat harvested progressed to 11 percent, 28 percentage points behind last year. Winter wheat condition was rated at 4 percent very poor, 19 percent poor, 47 percent fair, 28 percent good, and 2 percent excellent. Alfalfa first cutting progressed to 74 percent, 14 percentage points behind last year. Alfalfa second cutting progressed to 1 percent, 20 percentage points behind last year. Other Hay first cutting progressed to 40 percent, 27 percentage points behind last year.
