MISSOURI CROP PROGRESS REPORT 05/28/19 Temperatures last week averaged 67.9 degrees, 1.1 degree above normal. Precipitation averaged 3.88 inches statewide, 2.75 inches above normal. There was 1.0 day suitable for fieldwork for the week ending May 26, 2019. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 41 percent adequate, and 59 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 49 percent adequate, and 51 percent surplus. Corn planted progressed to 65 percent this week, 34 percentage points behind last year, while corn emerged progressed to 51 percent. Corn condition was rated at 10 percent very poor, 23 percent poor, 43 percent fair, 23 percent good, and 1 percent excellent. Soybeans planted progressed to 12 percent, 63 percentage points behind last year, while soybeans emerged progressed to 7 percent. Cotton planted progressed to 51 percent. Rice planted progressed to 76 percent, 18 percentage points behind the 5year average, while rice emerged progressed to 62 percent. Rice condition was rated at 3 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 33 percent fair, and 58 percent good. Winter wheat headed progressed to 83 percent, 10 percentage points behind last year. Winter wheat condition was rated at 3 percent very poor, 9 percent poor, 45 percent fair, 37 percent good, and 6 percent excellent. Alfalfa first cutting progressed to 20 percent, 33 percentage points behind last year. Other Hay first cutting progressed to 11 percent, 15 percentage points behind last year.
