MISSOURI CROP PROGRESS REPORT 05/13/19 Temperatures last week averaged 57.8 degrees, 4.8 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 1.57 inches statewide, 0.53 inches above normal. There were 0.7 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending May 12, 2019. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 44 percent adequate and 56 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 61 percent adequate and 39 percent surplus. Corn planted progressed to 52 percent this week, 37 percentage points behind last year, while corn emerged progressed to 31 percent. Soybeans planted progressed to 5 percent, 34 percentage points behind last year, while soybeans emerged progressed to 1 percent. Cotton planted progressed to 22 percent. Rice planted progressed to 54 percent, 28 percentage points behind the 5-year average, while rice emerged progressed to 29 percent. Winter wheat headed progressed to 51 percent, 5 percentage points behind last year. Winter wheat condition was rated at 2 percent very poor, 10 percent poor, 50 percent fair, 35 percent good, and 3 percent excellent.
