MISSOURI CROP PROGRESS REPORT 05/06/19 Temperatures last week averaged 59.5 degrees, 0.4 degree above normal. Precipitation averaged 4.00 inches statewide, 2.95 inches above normal. There were 0.8 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending May 5, 2019. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 46 percent adequate, and 54 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 66 percent adequate, and 34 percent surplus. Corn planted progressed to 49 percent this week, 25 percentage points behind last year and the 5 year average, while corn emerged progressed to 19 percent. Soybeans planted progressed to 3 percent, 14 percentage points behind last year. Cotton planted progressed to 19 percent. Rice planted progressed to 48 percent, 19 percentage points behind the 5-year average, while rice emerged progressed to 16 percent. Winter wheat headed progressed to 26 percent, 5 percentage points ahead of last year. Winter wheat condition was rated at 2 percent very poor, 11 percent poor, 46 percent fair, 34 percent good, and 7 percent excellent.
