Missouri Crop Progress and Condition Report (06/12/2017) Dry weather allowed fieldwork to progress last week. Temperatures averaged 70.6 degrees, 0.3 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.27 inches statewide, 0.83 inches below normal. There were 6.6 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending June 11. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 6 percent very short, 24 percent short, 67 percent adequate, and 3 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 3 percent very short, 17 percent short, 75 percent adequate, and 5 percent surplus. Corn emerged progressed to 98 percent. Corn condition was rated 2 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 32 percent fair, 50 percent good, and 9 percent excellent. Soybean planting was 85 percent complete, compared to 82 percent last year and 70 percent for the 5-year average. Soybeans emerged progressed to 65 percent. Soybean condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 33 percent fair, 53 percent good, and 8 percent excellent. Cotton condition was rated 2 percent very poor, 15 percent poor, 36 percent fair, 41 percent good, and 6 percent excellent. Rice emerged progressed to 94 percent. Rice condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 9 percent poor, 26 percent fair, 40 percent good, and 24 percent excellent. Sorghum planting was 80 percent complete. Winter wheat harvest was 21 percent complete, compared with the 5-year average of 18 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 25 percent fair, 58 percent good, and 10 percent excellent. Pasture and range condition was rated 2 percent poor, 26 percent fair, 64 percent good, and 8 percent excellent.
