Fall harvest is nearing completion across the state. There were 6.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending November 13. Temperatures averaged 49.7 degrees, 4.5 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 0.22 inches statewide, 0.50 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 8 percent very short, 19 percent short, 71 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 4 percent very short, 17 percent short, 78 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. Soybean harvest was 92 percent complete, compared to 88 percent for the 5-year average. Cotton harvest was 97 percent complete, 14 percentage points ahead of the 5-year average. Sorghum harvest was 93 percent complete. Winter wheat planted reached 87 percent, compared to 88 percent for the 5year average. Winter wheat emerged reached 65 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated 3 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 32 percent fair, 52 percent good, and 7 percent excellent. Pasture and Range Condition was rated 4 percent poor, 34 percent fair, 54 percent good, and 8 percent excellent.
