Missouri Weekly Hay Summary (04/01/16) Spring storms and unstable weather, which is quite typical for this time of year, was the story for most of the week. Wind and rain was in the news a few days but generally the state missed any severe storms this go around. Hay and pastures have really taken off and are off to a good growing season. Felid work has been limited with the cool down and rains what looked to be a very early start a few weeks ago have now gotten on track to be more normal timing. The supply of hay is moderate, demand is light and prices are steady. The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers and sellers. To be listed, or for a directory visit http://mda.mo.gov/abd/ haydirectory/ for current listings of hay http://agebb.missouri.edu/ haylst/ (All prices f.o.b. and per ton unless specified and on most recent reported sales price listed as round bales based generally on 5x6 bales with weights of approximately 1200-1500 lbs).
