Soybeans were 80 percent emerged, 16 days behind last year and 2 days behind normal. Soybean blooming was 1 percent complete. Soybean condition was 2 very poor, 6 percent poor, 33 percent fair, 53 percent good, and 6 percent excellent. Sorghum planting was 94 percent complete, 20 days behind last year but 1 day ahead of normal. Sorghum headed was reported in the north-central and northeast districts. Sorghum condition was 1 percent very poor, 3 percent poor, 47 percent fair, 47 percent good, and 2 percent excellent. Winter wheat harvested advanced 28 points to 51 percent, 23 days behind last year and 7 days behind normal. Winter wheat condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 25 percent fair, 53 percent good, and 16 percent excellent. Alfalfa hay 1st cutting was 94 percent, 28 days behind last year but 3 days ahead of normal. Alfalfa hay 2nd cutting was 23 percent, 25 days behind last year and 9 days behind normal. Other hay cut was 70 percent, 26 days behind last year, but same as normal. Pasture & Livestock Pasture conditions were 1 percent very poor, 2 percent poor, 21 percent fair, 61 percent good, and 15 percent excellent.
