Hay producers this week had their phones ringing as last weeks major winter storm has forced all cattle producers to feed supplemental hay. Just because their phones were ringing didn’t mean sales were being made. Most people were just checking on availability, quality and price. Deliveries of sold offerings is still at a standstill as most rural roads are still snow and ice covered, although all major roads are open. Hay price are steady, demand moderate and supply is heavy.
