Missouri Weekly Hay Summary As expected the cold weather has pretty much brought the straw market to a stop. Hay movement remains very good with most all truckers having a few loads in the books waiting to be hauled. The majority of the hay moving, including to the dairies, is middle of the line type of hay, what we traditionally would consider beef quality. Very few sales of top end hay taking place and this will probably remain the case for a while, just to o many factors working against this piece of the market. Hay supply is moderate and demand is good, and prices are steady. The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay hotline available for buyers and sellers.
