South Molton Community Garden
Green award for community garden
by Rebecca Blackman
The South Molton Community Garden team were delighted to hear that we had been awarded a ‘Wildlife Gardening Award’ from the Devon Wildlife Trust!
Our garden is a wonderful space for nature; a home to toads, frogs, bees and other pollinators, slow worms, birds, hedgehogs and many other creatures. We work hard to maintain a safe and welcoming place for the wildlife and it was lovely to receive recognition for our efforts.

We’ve been continuing with the ‘mud kitchen’ and a group of us met at the garden to position the kitchen table. We’ve almost finished weeding and levelling out the mound of soil in the mud kitchen area, but the bind weed really got a hold in that soil. It’ll be an ongoing project to clear the last of the tough roots.
New members are welcome! If you’d like to join us, please visit the garden on Thursday afternoons at 2pm (weather permitting). See our website for more info: southmoltoncommunitygarden.co.uk or on Facebook @southmoltoncommunitygarden
