Dozens line streets for funeral of rugby player Ben Warren
Heartfelt tributes have been paid to popular South Molton rugby player Ben Warren.

“The news of his death came as a huge shock to everyone who knew him,” said his sister Amy, who thanked everyone for their support. “Ben was a much-loved and larger than life character. He was someone who once met you never forgot him, and he was always the life and soul of everything.”
Ben was hospitalised in November with a severe throat infection. His family say he appeared to be on the road to recovery when he suffered a pulmonary embolism as a result of a deep vein thrombosis.

his funeral cortege headed through the town and passed by the rugby club on December 22nd. Ben, who was 31, had been captain of the second team and was delighted to have been selected to play for the first team this year. He grew up in Filleigh and helped on his parents farm, as well as working with local farming contractors after leaving school. He is survived by his father Gordon Warren, siblings Amy and Laurie, and girlfriend Lucie Slape.
