The Center for New Directions, under the direction of Ca role Haught, rcct'ived a gran1 for S6,8 19 to start a new cduca1ional program. The cen1er, which is working in conjunc1ion with the Coeur d'Alene Women's Center, has developed a program 10 continue education for unwed, teenage mot~crs. According 10 Haught, the goa l of the program is to get the young mothers back !n10 ~he school s~tem. whe1her ii is a General Educauon Diploma or a higher learning course. Another new gram 10 grace the NIC coffers is one given in the field of humanities.
