Magpies proud in defeat
Cabonne Council has received a report it commissioned to develop a regional water strategy across Cabonne Council, Central Tablelands and Orange City Council water supply networks. The intention was to support the development of a strategic water review which would identify opportunities for better integration between the supply networks. Council tabled the detailed report, from Devitt Consulting and Premise, at its meeting on 22 June and agreed that an application be made for funding (some $400k) under the Safe and Secure Water Program – Town Water Strategies to progress studies recommended by the consultants. The weather was rough, the Tablelands Water network field wet and muddy - but nothing was able to dampen the spirits of team members from both sides • East Zone - the upper section of the Central nor the huge crowd who cheered from the stands. Blayney Rams won 24-15. The report outlines a preferred scenario which connects the zones with pipelines; increases the capacity of Lake Rowlands and upgrades to the Molong Creek Dam and water filtration plants across the region. Council was told that the matter is complex an issue and a detailed evaluation of the options outlined is required to fully understand the key issues associated with each option. More to come.
