Fairbridge Footy returns to the Rec Children's Park opens

Following the "Opening" in March of the Fairbridge Children's Park the gate to the Mitchell Highway facility has finally been unlocked. On the Monday immediately following the Old Fairbridgians opening celebration the Covid-19 lockdown suddenly came into effect and the formal transfer of the roadside park as an asset to Cabonne Council and its designation as a rest stop did not occur until last Tuesday when Cabonne Council formally accepted the transfer of assets from the Old Fairbridgians Association. The park was opened to the public last Thursday. Deputy Premier Barilaro also visited the park last Thursday week with members of the Association and indicated that the State Government would provide $100,000 to complete the park with a war memorial for Fairbridge veterans.
