Path & Bike Plans under review

Cody Ramsey is the man to watch

If you use a footpath or ride a bike, you should attend this meeting. All Cabonne residents are invited to attend a community meeting in Molong next month to provide feedback on updated plans that will set out the priorities for the construction of footpaths and cycleways in the coming years. It will also be an opportunity to suggest any additional pathways that communities believe should be considered for inclusion in the plans. The meeting will review the draft Pedestrian Access Mobility Plan (PAMP) and Bike Plans for Cabonne’s towns and villages. Cabonne Mayor Kevin Beatty said anyone who uses a footpath or rides a bike has a stake in ensuring that the plans set out the right priorities for Cabonne’s communities. (Continued Page 2)

St George Illawarra's Cody Ramsey puts it down - but not quite in, against Penrith last Saturday. Molong born Cody Ramsey (yes, Kim's boy) spent last year in Wollongong on a rookie contract, playing for the St George Dragons' under 20 side. Cody took out the 2019 'Player of the Year' for the Dragons but last week shot to national attention when he scored a hat trick of tries against Penrith and four for the day in the Perth Nines Rugby League tournament. Cody started his footy career with the Cabonne Roos as a junior and later played for the Orange CYMS and Hawks before starring for the Manildra Rhinos in the local Woodbridge Cup competition.

Cody's eyecatching performance in Perth was not without controversy. His last try turned the tables on Penrith and resulted in the Dragons going into the Nines Grand Final. The try was paid by the referree but later video examination found that the ball was out (there is no video referee in the Nines). Penrith were furious but for Cody, well, he received even more attention. So, keep your eye out. We reckon St George Illawarra's selectors and coaches will soon seriously give fullback Cody a crack in the big time.

When Holden came to Manildra

Cute, kind, happy, keen to learn ... meet the 2020 Kindy kids at Molong's St. Joseph's Primary School with their teacher, Mrs Warrington. (inset: Jaxx was away that day)

Prompted by the sad demise of the Holden name Pam Crockett brought in this fabulous memory of her mum and dad, Abe and Sadie Baker with their youngest daughter Jill - taken in 1948 (the family were on holidays in Narooma NSW) ... "Our family owned Manildra Motors at the time and became GMH dealers in 1948. Later on we set up Baker's Motors in Molong." "A GMH Dealer in Narooma took this photo of my family, sitting on the bonnet of the new 1948 Holden FX." See Next Week
