RUGBY UNION

Again! Molong to meet undefeated Blayney in Final The Molong Magpies had an emphatic 43-13 win at Geurie in the preliminary final of the Oilsplus competition. This books them a grand final spot against the undefeated Blayney side this coming Saturday. Geurie have been strong all season only losing very close games to Blayney and Coolah, whilst Molong have been building slowly throughout the season. This should have led to a very close game, however the Magpies blew Geurie off the park in the first ten minutes and followed through for the remainder of the game.

A bit of history

Molong and Blayney Rugby Clubs go back yonks. With changing territories over the years they didn't always meet up in the same competition. But when they did, especially in a grand final, it was "Rugby Heaven". Here's two that the Express covered...

Peter Andren Member for Calare Last column? If John Howard calls an election in the next few days this will obviously be my last column as your federal member. Thanks again to the several thousand who have sent messages of love and hope. I’m writing this in Perth where I’m completing 3 weeks radio-wave treatment at a clinic founded on the principles of Dr John Holt. In a few weeks I am headed to the Gawler Clinic in Melbourne for mind, body and spiritual healing. I’m determined to beat this intruder and believe a car sticker I saw the other day – CANCER is a word, not a sentence.

End of Section for Howard?

No-one should be foolish enough to predict the automatic demise of John Howard and his government based solely on a series of bad polls.
