At last ... All clear in FUN and SUN return to Molong Molong - but concerns in nearby areas Covid-19
By Paul Mullins
Molong's sewerage system remains free of Coronavirus fragments after a fortnight of testing. This follows the previous detection of virus fragments twice in just over a few weeks, leading to the conclusion that the fragments may have resulted from visitng travellers. However Coronavirus is on the march in surrounding regional communities with cases appearing in multiple locations. While no new cases Covid-19 identified in our Local Health District - COVID-19 virus fragments were detected in samples taken from the Mudgee sewage treatment plant on on Monday, August 2 and Wednesday, August 4. COVID-19 virus fragments were detected in samples taken from the Dubbo Sewage Treatment Plant on Wednesday, August 4. As a result, testing sites were established in Dubbo, Mudgee, Rylstone and Gulgong. On Thursday the Commonwealth Government announced that NSW will receive an additional 180,000 Pfizer doses over the next two weeks. Western NSW Local Health District's vaccination team is working through the implications of that announcement including how many additional Pfizer doses will be redirected to our District. At this stage, those additional supplies are expected to come into our District around August 16. People whose bookings were recently cancelled will be rebooked as a priority to ensure they are the first to receive the new doses. Earlier, Tamworth, the Byron Shire, Richmond Valley, Lismore, and Ballina Shire LGAs also had snap lockdowns announced. Premier Glady Berijiklian said a young woman from Newcastle was infectious during her trip to the New England town. As COVID-19 migrates outside Sydney, police have again stepped up patrols on highways and local roads to stop further spread.

Climate Change Crisis Special Report
Fun loving people headed to Dave and Kim's Freemason's Hotel last weekend enticed by a game of Bingo. Well, let us say ... this was definitely not just an ordinary game of 'legs 11' and '66 clickety click'- Nosiree, Noma'am. 'Incroyable' we gasped as we wandered past tables of femmes et hommes wearing mountainous plastic hair of many shapes and vivid colours, feathers, fishnets, lace and bling from head to toe. "Is this winter weary COVID compliant no fun Molong?" the Express enquired. "Oui" shouted the crowd ... "Oui" shouted the (get this!) Drag Queens ... as they (we) settled into a COVID compliant night of great fun including 'Drag Queen Bingo'. (Above) The Friday night winner, (mmmm could that be Michelle... Gianisis???) with Drag Queen Bingo host(ess) ... with the mostest? More Photos on P.2
