Why should one sporting group be allowed to disadvantage all other users of the mountain? Especially so when there is an obvious solution. Immediately adjoining the State Conservation Area are thousands of hectares of State Forests, where recreational activities such as biking are not restricted and would do little harm. It has been suggested that there is a perception that the mountain areas are “under-utilised”, however the reality is quite the opposite.

by Rozzi Smith "WOW! What a night!" Thank you to Cabonne Council for providing Molong business owners, local families, and visitors who came to town in their hundreds to experience a stunning event. "It was fantastic to see so many people in Bank Street again" said one of Molong's long-time residents. "It was like in the old days when people would come to town on Fridays and moreso on Saturdays to shop, catch up with people over a cuppa at one of the cafes, or a beer with the blokes at the pubs, kids would be running around ... Molong would really come alive". Business owners report a very successful night (which pleasingly continued through to Saturday). The first gig of 'The Objections' band was a tremendous hit with the talented young local guys performing to a very appreciative audience. (See photo above). Not forgetting Santa who delighted both young and old as he walked along the street greeting one and all. Adding to the event were the glittering

Well done Cabonne Council, the many sponsors of the event ... and to the spirited residents and business owners, community/school groups who have 'never, ever given up on their town.
