My Main Studio Project (MSP) for my second year at Nottingham Trent University. Where we were given a brief to redesign a newly proposed faculty / gate way building, for NTU’s Arts & Humanities building along Clarenden Street.
The overall scheme achieved a BREEAM rating of Excellent, exhibited an increased biodiversity and natural habitation with the inclusion of Wild-Sedum roof systems and Honey Bee Colonies.
A Water Reclaiming system, was developed into the overall layout of the structure. That would irrigate a naturally growing bio=sphere within a centralised courtyard. As well as introducing Algae-growing solar panels, along its south facing facades. Enabling a natural source of both bio-degradable fuel and solar mitigation to these large glass facades.
To aid in monitoring Student’s health and mental wellbeing; the inclusion and design of a secluded “zen reflection garden” was inhibited within the proposed scheme.
