2019 Q3 Donor Impact Report Supporter Spotlight

Inspiring the Next Generation of Philanthropists This year’s 2019 WE ARE campaign, our annual peer-led fundraising initiative, proved yet again that young adults do want to participate in philanthropy. Driven by our young adult community builders around the world over the course of just six weeks: • We received 2,800+ donations, primarily from Jewish young adults and their communities, raising $160,821!! (+16% from 2018 and surpassing our goals!)

• We met ALL 15 of our matches, most of which were $1,000+, created by young adults challenging their peers to invest back into their communities.

The second annual West Coast Camp Nai Nai Nai was sold out as over 180 campers gathered for three days in the Santa Cruz mountains of California for the ultimate Jewish summer camp for adults in their 20s and 30s!

Beyond the Donation We value opportunities for community builders to meet and engage with folks that make their work possible. Here are some highlights from recent visits.

Shari and Stephen Reiches First Time Supporters

“We were slightly concerned when our daughter, Madeleine, moved to Kansas City for her first job after college. Except for two co-workers, Maddie did not know anyone in Kansas City. Maddie, however, struck gold when she found Moishe House [Kansas City.] The Moishe House community immediately welcomed Maddie. We are proud to support Moishe House and thankful for the support it has provided our daughter.”

Moishe House Barcelona hosted leaders from Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) of Greater Boston. Participants exchanged ideas around the needs and interests of Jewish young adults in Barcelona and Europe, and detailed the philanthropic perspectives and priorities of North American and Boston Jewry.

Julie Witenstein, mother of Moishe House Phoenix resident Matthew Witenstein, held a fundraising event at MH Phoenix engaging a local network of leaders in the community to increase awareness and raise support for Moishe House’s work in the local and global Jewish young adult community.

Moishe House NYC - Park Slope hosted representatives of UJA-Federation of New York’s King David Society as part of UJA’s mini-mission to Brooklyn.

Residents and UJA guests discussed the impact of Moishe House in Brooklyn, throughout New York City and around the world.
