I am a graduate architect from Aalim Muhammed Salegh Academy of Architecture, Chennai, with a particular interest in landscape and residential design. Over my five years in architecture school, I’ve developed strong drafting and organizational skills. The most fascinating aspect of design for me is seeing how it is applied in various fields around the world. During my internship at a studio firm in Chennai, I handled two interior projects and an architectural design project with guidance from my senior interior designer and chief architect.

CONCEPT
Create a Scandinavian-themed compact workspace by focusing on minimalist design with clean lines and simple forms. Use a neutral color palette of whites, grays, and soft pastels, complemented by natural wood tones. Choose functional, ergonomic furniture with practical storage solutions and maximize natural light with large windows and airy treatments. Add cozy, warm lighting to enhance comfort and incorporate natural elements like wood, wool, and plants for a touch of nature and coziness. This approach will ensure a serene, practical, and inviting environment that supports productivity and well-being.
STYLE
Scandinavian style embraces minimalism by following the 60-30-10 rule: 60% of the space in a neutral base color, 30% in complementary tones, and 10% in accent colors. It simplifies design decisions with a focus on functionality and clean lines. This approach creates a harmonious and visually appealing space that balances simplicity with subtle pops of character through carefully chosen details.
PROBLEM
Designing a compact office space presents several challenges, particularly due to the numerous columns that must be incorporated into the design. Concealing these columns in a manner that enhances the overall aesthetic was a significant hurdle. Furthermore, working within budget constraints added complexity to achieving both a visually appealing and functional workspace.

WALKTHROUGH
Design elements are muted and minimalist, accented with light colors that integrate seamlessly with the environment to create a productive and enjoyable workspace. The careful selection of colors, materials, and textures effectively meets both spatial and psychological needs of the office.
In a deliberate effort to maintain an environmentally friendly interior, significant attention was given to material choices and planning. For example, green elements were incorporated for a fresh and eco-friendly ambiance, clear glass walls were used in meeting rooms, private cabins, and workspaces to enhance energy efficiency. Continuous cement-textured tile flooring extends throughout the office, contributing to a sense of spaciousness.
