BAYT AL NAJJAR
Bayt Al Najjar is a human-scale resilient home based on the principles of critical regionalism ad inspired by the morphology of islamic residential architecture.
Methodology
The project’s external form is created from the inside out.
We used a playful mix of local vernacular styles to create a design that is both delightful and functional. The building skin employs a confluence of simple natural materials; clay plaster , glass and wood detailing . The main masses are accentuated with the use of shaded and planted verandas and a vegetable garden.
COMMERCIAL ADMINISTRATIVE INFILL PROJECT
The project is an infill site in the historic Raml Station in downtown Alexandria.
Methodology
We created a courtyard of native and adaptive plants in the center that can be an asset to the users and general community. The massing allows for plenty of South-facing sunlight to enter the site and also orients the openings efficiently towards the predominant wind direction for passive cooling and ventilation.
MAIN OFFICE FOR CONSTRUCTION FIRM
This interior design project features natural materials, and finishes, custom-designed furniture, cladding and lighting solutions.
Methodology
The interior design of the Sigma Office features custom-designed open plan workstations and a meandering staircase that leads up to a mezzanine that holds more private spaces.
INTERIOR DESIGN FOR A YOUNG FAMILY HOME
The home, designed for two friends, is an honest expression of their personalities and way of life.
Methodology
The aim was to create a warm home with a distinct personality. The simple natural qualities of the wood and fabrics chosen are elevated by the ornamental patterns, colours and lighting fixtures, creating an organic and contemporary home.
